- Day 407 ( Feb. 21/22 )
- [ The thick cloud coverage from yesterday turns dark and vicious, enough so to blot out the morning sun and cast Asgard into prolonged darkness. Thunder will begin to crackle across the city, seemingly far away at first as the storm builds, and growing louder with each passing minute going past noon.
As per the Holes event from November, Storm Spirits from the Percy Jackson franchise will sweep through the streets, sometimes alone and sometimes in groups of two or three. They will not discriminate between Demigod, Traveller, or native as they shock them, run them down, or sweep them up into the air. They are metaphysical creatures, which means combating them will be relatively difficult, but don't worry for too long.
Just as the sun sets ( though it still can't be seen behind the pitch black cloud coverage spider-webbed with small bursts of lightning ), a final crack of thunder will rumble across the entire kingdom, sounding near enough to a rockslide beneath their feet and above their heads. The sky will flash in a violent burst of lightning, bright enough to cast the sky in an unearthly white and blue that lasts several seconds before fading. Torrential rain will pour above an unnatural silence; the Storm Spirits are gone, and the natives will have gone bone white with fear. Even the animal life in the city will not deign to bark or howl.
The silence persists until Heimdall addresses the network with an announcement on February 22. Stay tuned to find out more! ]

Can you help? You're not a healer in Sigyn, are you? Or even if I get to the clinic. They can help. I would heal myself, but it doesn't work on me. Just others.
no subject
No, I'm in Thor, which is... really not helpful. [ Even if she knew how to use it. ] But I can help you get to the clinic, if you can tell me where it is. That's what I'm out here for.
[ As she speaks, she casts a nervous look up at the sky just to make sure they're not about to get divebombed by anything. The sky's not clear, but nothing seems to be focusing on them just yet. ]

[She would do it herself, but she realizes how helpless she is right now. Knows she needs assistance in spite of her growing independence. It's reluctant, perhaps, but Clementine is grateful for the offer, managing something of a small smile before she follows Kate's gaze up to the sky, growing more anxious at seeing them all.]
You know the way? Or should I lead? We should probably get out of here quick.
no subject
[ She purses her lips, silently trying to figure out what the hell she's going to do if one of those things does attack them. Something dumb, probably. Like being out here isn't dumb enough... ]
I've never been there. Why don't you lead the way while I watch our backs, okay?
no subject
[But Clementine gives a nod. It's not usually her that leads the way, but she knows the route to the clinic well enough from visiting there each day after school and all.]
I know the way. I can do it.
[And with that, she starts heading off, gesturing for Kate to follow with her uninjured arm.]
Thanks for the help.
[She's still...getting used to Asgard again in a way. Trusting people again after being attacked so often back home by survivors.]

[ She feels weird, not having her bow in her hands, an arrow on the string, as they walk. She knows perfectly well it wouldn't do her any good, which is why she doesn't actually pull it, but she feels naked and exposed and deeply uncomfortable without it. ]
How far is this clinic, roughly?
no subject
[And she will just leave it at that. Really, no need to go into all of that unless she is specifically asked. She doesn't often usually go around talking about all that unless it is to a few more specific people she knows she can trust. She's still adjusting to her own abilities and handicaps here, her pistol not likely to do much against such opponents. She's careful, cautious as she moves.]
It's not too far. Not from here.

[ The comment's a little distracted, trying to split her attention between Clementine and the sky. A group of the spirits wheel toward them, and Kate can't quite tell if it's because they see them or because they just happen to be heading this direction, and might pass over without incident. ]
Good. Close is good.
no subject
[Which is partly why she so much prefers Asgard over home. But Clementine follows Kate's gaze to the sky, gesturing for them to hurry just in case as she breaks into a run. There's a wince, holding her injured arm as best as she can.]
Yeah. Close is good. We can do it.
no subject
She does purse her lips a little seeing her clutch her arm like that. ] You doing okay?
no subject
[Nothing they can prevent, not if they want to reach the clinic. The sooner the better, so long as Clementine makes it and finds a healer. That's the one thing she hates, not being able to heal herself in order to keep going and help others. It's the one flaw she finds in the healing power, besides the restrictions in terms of the power level, though she is getting better at healing now.
Clementine keeps moving forward, concentrating on putting one foot in front of the other. Not looking up to the sky as often.]
There! There it is!
[She calls out, pointing ahead of them as they round a corner. There's definitely relief in her voice, hope that they will make it without being attacked.]
no subject
[ Or, rather, she's spinning back around to face the spirit that's been following them for about a block now - it's not right on top of them, but Kate's pretty sure it actually is stalking them, and if it notices they're about to get to cover...
She keeps backing up toward the clinic, but except for a brief glance back at Clementine, keeps her eyes on the spirit. If it attacks, maybe she can at least distract it and keep it from hurting the kid again. At least if she gets hurt too, the clinic's right here... ]

K-Kate?
no subject
Kate doesn't answer at first, still focusing on the spirit. It's slowing, wings beating the air to hover, and it is definitely watching her now. It folds its wings abruptly and drops into a steep dive, but she'd been waiting for exactly that - she spins around and sprints after Clementine, motioning wildly for her to keep running.
It can't be maneuverable enough to pull out of that dive and come after them right away. Probably. Oh, who the hell knows with magic? Kate's not turning back around until she's got a closed door behind her. ]
I'm good, keep going!
no subject
[Clementine bites her lip, looking hesitant before obeying as the spirits approach, sprinting and wincing each time her arm is knocked with the movement. She tries to concentrate, to not trip and watch where she is going. Her chest rises and falls, panting as she finally makes it to the door, pulling it open with her uninjured arm and keeping it open for Kate.]
no subject
She takes a deep breath, not even especially winded, and smiles a little at Clementine. ]
Well that was fun.
no subject
Yeah. Lets....not do that again.
[She answers with a crooked smile of her own in gratitude for Kate's help. It's not long before someone comes along and notices her though. She's a regular helping at the clinic so they all know Clementine and she is quickly taken care of.]
Thanks.
