Welcome to Lux —

It's been under construction for about a month, and anyone in the Baldr district (or who just liked to wander) surely would have noticed the bar's construction. It was only a few days ago that the sign was finally put up—Lux.

Maybe you saw the owner's post on the network and decided to come see. Or maybe you were just walking past and was curious about the crowd of people who had gathered. Regardless, you'll be welcomed into a ritzy bar and lounge. There are some locals mingling about, and jazz is drifting through the air, since the owner is currently playing.

Should you decide to stay, you'll find that the drinks and food are very generously half price for grand opening. Or, if that's not to your taste, then surely the music and crowd will make up for it.

... [She's actually speechless for a few moments.]

[Dryly,] You really know how to be charming, don't you?

[He ignores her remark and extends his arm to hold his finger out to her.]

Peel this off for me woudlja? [IT WILL FEEL SO SATISFYING DIVA YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW.]

[Surprisingly, she takes his hand without any complaint, starting to do just that. But she doesn't care about the feeling, sorry Claire!!]

I don't think I'm a demon, though... What I am isn't really supernatural or anything like it is in stories.

[Once she's done, he'll delicately pluck the thing from between her fingers and set it on the table.] Lucifer would say the same thing! Sounds to me like you two might be in denial, so you can be in denial together!

[He pushes the candle towards her.] Let's compare fingerprints! Go ahead and dip one in.

[She stares at the candle...]

But I'm not! I'm a different species from humans, not... the undead, or something. Like weaknesses that vampires have in stories, I don't have those. Like I can go into churches and stuff.

You still feed on blood, though! [He lowers his chin to the table, peeking up at her with one eye, since his bangs dangle over his other. His hands cup either side of the candle holder, holding it steady and possessively.]

Are you gonna put your finger in the wax or what?

Well, yes, but that's just food...

[She extends her hand hesitantly (though she's not really sure why she's hesitating, since she knows it won't hurt)]

If you really want, I can kind of tell you how it works.

Sure, I got time. [He gives a slight shrug and smiles excitedly when her hand extends.]

[She dips her finger in the wax!!

Then just frowns, because it just feels weird. How anticlimatic. But she'll withdraw it after however long, I forget how this works ok]

Well, I don't know any of the technical words or details, but I bet you don't either, so it's alright. But basically, it's that our bodies work by kind of... skipping how you humans need to digest food. We drink blood, and just get the nutrients we need directly from that, I think is what it is. We also don't really produce much blood of our own because of that, so it looks like ane... anim... Some blood disease, I don't know.

[She looks at the wax coated finger, then holds it out for Claire to do the same for her and peel it off]

We can eat human food, but we can't take nutrients or anything out of it. It has to be blood for that. Amshel told me that Chiropterans just do everything more efficiently than humans. It's why we're so strong and fast and stuff. The way our muscles and bones are constructed is completely different, even though it looks the same.

[Claire doesn't care about science, and he isn't all that fascinated by her biology past the typical 'oh so you're like a vampire' response! He gives her a quirk of an eyebrow every now and then as she explains, though his expression remains... smug. Like how it usually is.]

[He works at peeling off the wax and lifts it up to look at the print of it, which shouldn't look all that different from a human's?]

Yeah, it'd be cool if you could turn into a bat or something.

[You are correct! It will look like a normal, dainty human's]

Why would I want to turn into a bat? That's not cool at all.

...My Chevalier have another "form," though, I guess it would be. It's really big and ugly, so I wouldn't let them do it unless they really had to. I guess they were kind of bat-like. It was really only useful when we needed to fly or something.

[NOW THAT'S COOL. His eyes get all big when she talks about those forms. The piece of wax... flutters to the table to join his finger print (AVAILABLE FOR STALKING DETECTIVES TO PICK UP!!!!! GASP, lol no one cares.)]

Ah... Could you draw what it looks like!? That sounds amazing!

Oh, um...

[She frowns, looking away nervously]

I could try, I guess. I'm not very good at drawing.

[He glances around, before reaching out to a passing waiter, stealing their notebook and pencil from their apron without them noticing!]

That's fine, I guess! [He slides the notebook and pencil over to her.] I'm not all that good, either.

[Diva just watches that go down with a somewhat scandalized expression, but it's quickly replaced by the idea of "oh god I actually have to draw something oh no he'll be watching too"

But she'll start drawing, her face getting progressively redder as she does. And she draws this but... not nearly as well, HAHA. But well enough to get the point across.]

Th— This is my Solomon.

[Claire actually laughs, moving to slide the notebook over. He doesn't comment on the overall quality, or make any indication that he recognizes it's not the best in his body language.]

This guy looks hideous! He's really one of your knights in shining armour?

Well that's not what he looks like all the time, like I said! I never let him change into that unless he really had to.

[Diva thinks of how to describe him, and the immediate comparison that comes up is "kind of like Johan," but she doesn't really want to just hand him that idea if she can avoid it.]

Solomon was really handsome. The most handsome of my Chevalier, actually. Short blonde hair, though it had a little bit of a curl. I guess it would be more like a wave? Blue eyes, of course, and he was tall, kind of an average build though. He had a very pretty face, though.
