[ Away from the rest of the festivities, there are still new arrivals popping into unexpected places without warning on Day 290 (July 5). Guards and maids will be wandering around with baskets of the temporary bracelets, looking to give one to every visitor along with any information they might need to thrive in the days until their gods can sort out this magical mishap.

Temporary housing will be set up in the Folkvang Comfort House of the Freya District and the Arena in the Thor District. They’ll be given bedding, food, clothes and anything else they might need without charge, though they are more than welcome to find shelter with familiar faces or elsewhere.

Feel free to wander the streets at will, but try not to poke noses where they aren’t welcome, lest they get the rolled up newspaper. ]

[ He had been in Asgard for twelve hours, his bracelet was still gray, and having not seen any familiar faces yet was rankling the hell out of him. That's probably why he was up early in the arena, pacing through rows of cots and seeking out familiar faces. ]

Ro'? Coach? Hell, Nick? Where the hell are you guys?

[ Don't mind the fact that his shirt is covered in zombie goo that, despite having been drying for half a day, is still gooey and damp. Probably smells bad, too. Actually, you know what? You probably should mind it, because Ellis isn't paying too much attention to personal space on his hunt for his friends. ]

[ It had taken him a few days to calm down, to really acknowledge what was going on here. To accept, maybe, that the stone in his bracelet hadn't changed from gray, and that he likely wasn't going to be a permanent resident in the city.

Oh, well. Sirius still had so much to do at home, and an escape from Azkaban was at the top of that list, highlighted in red and circled three times.

But here, for now? He could breathe, at least for a few days (even if not having his magic was a serious pain in the ass.) He'd just have to do things the muggle way. Feel free to intercept him leaving one of the shops with his arms full of bagged food on the morning of 291, dropping things behind him and not paying a single ounce of mind to it.

Otherwise, feel free to catch him anywhere, investigating the city, trying to figure out how it and the travelers work -- and probably sticking his nose all sorts of places it doesn't belong in the process. ]

[ Each morning, Jade will hit up both the arena and the Folkvang Comfort House where the visitors are lodged, a cloth bag filled with sandwiches and flowers both hanging from her left arm. She will simply seek out anyone who looks especially bored or confused or lonely, fluffy white dog ears perked in friendly curiosity. ]

The people who brought him his bracelet and attempted to explain also managed to wrestle him into some very plain, gray clothing. While he kept the ears and tail, his ears manage to kind of hide within his white hair anyway. The strangest part might be the green eyes staring out of white eyelashes.

He licks her face as his tail is like a ship propeller trying to take flight. Jade, Jade, Jade is here and that means all is right with the world. Jade is who he lived for and waited for all those lonely years. Jade is the little girl who won over his radioactive heart, when he had soured over humanity's ruin of his planet. Jade who is his best friend and the best daughter anyone could ever ask for.]

[This is a mess, quite frankly. Having people come and go is enough of a pain in itself, so having them do so in an irregular fashion is just worse. It won't do to make friends with people who might be gone in a matter of days, so he doesn't want to try.

Still, he can't help but be curious. There might be something to be learned from the visitors, and there's always a chance he'll spot a familiar face. Whether someone from home would be a good thing or a bad thing is yet to be seen, but he can't bring himself not to even look. Therefore, every day he can be found lingering near the Comfort House and the Arena, smoking and watching people as they enter and leave the premises.]

[ Jade just flashes him a half-grin, apologetic about her own intrusion - it really was none of her business, but she'd seen him sitting there and just watching people nearly all day. Was he looking for someone in particular? ]

[With the event going on, the doors to a cramped little apothecary can be seen for anyone visiting in Loki District. Labeled "A Pinch of Sage," there's a sign saying "Free Tea to guests" on the side of it.

Leaning over the rail and looking out into the streets is what looks a bit like a demon, minus the wings. She's smoking a clove cigarette and muttering to herself with a sour, paranoid look in her eyes.]

[Appearing in a brand-new place is hardly an unusual event for Romanadvoratrelundar. However, the fact that she hadn't noticed any transition between where she'd been and where she was now was a bit on the strange side... if that was a transmat beam, it was decidedly the most gentle one she'd ever experienced. Accepting a bracelet from a someone with a basket full of them, she listened to the brief explanation (if you could call it that) before setting out to find someone who could corroborate it.

It was just too bad she hadn't known this was going to happen. Presidential robes were hardly the most practical thing to wear while traipsing around somewhere unknown, not to mention the shoes she was wearing; at least she'd managed to leave the headdress behind. Goodness knows she was going to attract enough attention as it was.]

Jun had been here for a few days, keeping to the shadows and watching. Now she found she could not simply watch any longer.

Two brutish men, some of the lot who found themselves pulled here during the strange event, had cornered a young woman. Jun knew their type. She had met men like them before. They held no regard for others. Even here when everyone should be working together to figure out why they had been brought here they thought only of stealing the woman’s money and... well, that would be not allowed. Not while there was an assassin around to stop them.

The jian slid out of the sheath on the lady assassin’s back as she stepped boldly from the shadows and confronted the pair of men.

“You will not win what you seek.” She slid easily into an attack position as the men sneered and drew weapons of their own.

The sound of shouts drew Altaïr in, hidden blade ready to be triggered if necessary. Since arriving in this city, he'd found it to full of many good souls, but there would always be men of violence and greed as well. It was the nature of humanity.

One he drew close enough to the source of those distressed noises, however, it seemed he was late. He hung back for a moment, ready to step in and give aid yet curious about what this stranger intended to do.

[ Hm. An unexpected turn in events, to be certain. Instantaneous transportation to a world perhaps not entirely human. Advanced technological breakthroughs. Ancient Nordic colorings.

Not a man to deal in fearing change, Moriarty takes the better option to his mind and deals in strict academic fascination. He spends a stretch of time seated primly on a bench, observing the goings-on with clinical sharpness. His head oscillates, for lack of a better word- not a particularly natural-looking movement. Not that there's much to say for his natural vibe. It's 100% possible for a human being to carry an arctic and not-slightly-humane aura for all that they're simply having a rest on a bench, and this aging Victorian gent is the proof. He makes his way to the library, eventually, not being so invested in the festivities beyond a passing look. It's only right for a professor to invest himself in the academia of it all. He has plans to quietly insert an eye into everything possible. ]

( he's not the only one who had the idea of going to the library. irene had assumed, after being unable to find any sort of city hall that any form of public record would be stored there and that was one form of information she was very interested in getting her hands on. unfortunately, it seemed as though her cellphone had become defunct upon arriving.

but she'd been anticipated. there was an interesting looking gentleman already there, in precisely the section she'd been interested in accessing. )

[Initial Arrival: Locked to Dirk Strider]

[There's a thumping noise in the ceiling above Dirk's shower. It's the sound of Hal suddenly showing up in a human body in the fucking dark where it's musty and gross and he's freaking the fuck out. He's never spoken with a normal voice before so he doesn't call out for help or anything, just bumps around until... the ceiling caves in.

Then there is a lot of pain. Pain is how he would describe it, and for someone who has never experienced it before, it's a big deal and he shouts as he hits the tiles hard and then kicks something (Dirk's ankle, probably). And now he's... wet? Jesus christ, what the fuck is going on?]

[After the fiasco in Dirk's shower, Hal eventually removes himself from Dirk's presence while his back is turned and goes out to experience... well, everything. He's wearing all black, black jeans, black long-sleeved shirt, black shades. And when he looked in the mirror earlier, he noticed his corneas are black and his irises are red. Pretty neat. It distinguishes him from Dirk, not to mention his hair is silver. Awesome. Individuality is important.

He can be found wandering around the city and touching anything he comes across in poorly controlled fascination. Oh, and eating, he sees food being sold and he pulls out some money- whatever currency they have here, he doesn't know or care, he just stole it from Dirk before he left- and he buys it to taste. It's a fucking fiesta in his mouth every time. Even things people would normally consider disgusting, he loves, like casu marzu. He's pretty sure it was made illegal back in his world, and he can't imagine why.]

[So the thing is, it looks like the gods still haven't got a hold on the situation, and more people keep showing up. It would be really amazing to see the city filling with colour, except...they're running out of places to put them.

Since the newcomers can't be sent to any of the welcome halls, Merlin spends a good amount of the time bundling up extra blankets and pillows and carrying them over to Folkvang and the Arena. Maybe even the hospital, if some of them choose to lodge there instead.

He's on one such trip now, wobbling through the crowd, his arms piled high with all sorts of things for the new people. Don't be surprised if what looks like a tower of blankets is walking toward you, tipping dangerously to the side.]

[This is not good. She doesn't know what's going on or why there was a bracelet shoved on her arm by a random stranger. In the distance it's clear that there's some sort of festival going on which is both a good and bad thing. It means most of the people are congregated in one area and it'll make getting away easier but if she doesn't get far enough away in the next few hours it can also mean more attacks.]

[And that is not something Freya can handle. There's bound to be children in that crowd.]

[So she's looking for an escape when there's someone carrying a bunch of blankets through the street. Obviously, he knows where he's going and the voice is a bit familiar as well. Freya catches up to him, attempting to keep the blankets between her and the stranger. The less people that know she's here, the better.]

Can you help me? I need to find a way out of the city. Preferably to somewhere secluded.

[For Rue, the mess up doesn't mean chaos everywhere, even though it really is, it also means more people to talk to. And more importantly, more people to come to their cafe! Because if there's anything Rue knows about comfort, it's that in the end, people just want food and a place to sleep.

[It was a miracle. A night where she hadn't changed into a monster and killed someone. Freya can remember nights like that even if she hadn't been able to sleep last night for fear that it would still haunt her. Now the sun was shining and Freya was wandering the city to get a good look at it all. There are all sorts of things that are new to her. Technology that she doesn't understand but it doesn't stop her from looking.]

[There are times when she can be seen carrying various things in a large basket, supplies to help out seeing as how the one person she really knows in the city is helping out as well. These are the moments when she'll approach anyone she sees with a bracelet containing a gray stone with a small smile.]

[ Trying to remember this place has been hard enough, but Lucy's quickly regaining her footing. Well, until the sudden burst of new and interesting people have come along! She's doing her best to help anyone she sees looking lost or forlorn.

She may have even made cookies in the kitchens (now that she knows she can't blow anything up, last time was a mess), and is carrying a tin of them around. Who could deny sweets? After all, sometimes it took even the smallest of things to cheer someone up! [ More than anything in the world, Katniss hopes that with all of these sudden arrivals, she'll get to see Prim. It has been months here, without even so much as a short period of time with her sister. Every day, Katniss misses her, and every day, she worries. It would bring her a great deal of peace, so much solace, just to see her sister even for a minute. She knows deep down that she couldn't let go of her, wouldn't want to let go of her, if she were there such a short time... But to see her face and to see that she's all in one piece while Katniss is trapped here would be enough to make the ache a little less painful.

She goes out every day, searching. She can be found just about anywhere in the city, scouting. She's in the restaurant, around the lake and the park and the woods, out in the streets, at the temporary housing... Anywhere and everywhere, Katniss is antisocially skulking about, looking for her sister. She looks for others, too; Cinna is a face she wishes she could see again, in particular. Hell, even Haymitch. ]

[Well, Johanna Mason is none of the above and never quite the welcome face anyone wants to run into, be it a crowded street or a dark alley. But she's here and getting her bearings as best she can, with some idiotic bracelet slapped onto her wrist and more questions than answers. Maybe she'd feel better if she had her axe in hand, but she doesn't need to be armed to defend herself if the situation calls for it. She expects to be out of here before that changes.

What the Victor from Seven doesn't expect is to find Katniss—because what are the odds? (Ever in her favour, it seems.) But she'd know the Mockingjay anywhere and she follows her around a corner and calls out: ]

[ when it had become clear that the gods, or thor, had made a mistake, the whole mess with the unexpected travelers had turned a lot more interesting. derek's kept an eye on some of the stuff going on since then, though he hasn't had much reason to approach anyone...

and he doesn't have any now, either. still, he's out and about, keeping mostly to the slightly less busier streets away from the heart of the festival, and giving his best attempts to glare off anyone who so much as looks his way.

despite the attitude, with the way people are popping up ( doubles even, in some cases ) there's little hope that someone he might not hate quite as much as he does everyone else might show up, which is reason enough to even be within a social range of others. progress. ]

[ When she turns around and finds herself back in the city, she's not all that surprised. People come and go and some return, and maybe some part of her deep in her gut knew she put too much into this city, into helping protect it and fight for it, for it to just let her go. What she's surprised about is her bracelet, or more specifically, the color of the jewel. And the longer she's here the more she realizes something is...off. Wrong.

Thor's post on the network made it pretty clear this was all a mistake, and she was back but it wasn't going to be for good. That thought sits in her chest a little heavier than everything else does, but she doesn't really have time to worry about it. Not when she's only got a day, maybe more, to check in on everything. Everyone. Sure, she might be a little better off knowing the city as well as she does, but with the festival and things she's a little rushed and accidentally bumps into more people than she'd like. ]

[From a distance, Harry sees Claudia bring up the map and doesn't think twice of it. He isn't good at noticing things that well, so seeing the map tells him that Claudia is just another person who's been here for a while. It was interesting how many people adjusted—

Adapting to situations isn't that strange to Harry. He's adapted to some odd ones himself, but it's still interesting.

[They're used to the whole multiple-dimensions thing-- hell, they're native to the fae plane, and they're pretty sure it doesn't get stranger than that. What Oleander is not used to is being unable to find a door back, and have they ever been trying. Just about every likely-looking door they've seen while roaming has been poked at, especially ones tucked in out-of-the-way places, around corners, and in alleys; you might've caught this particular little pink-haired fish darting around just about anywhere on their search. Hard to miss even a five-foot-nothing person with hair that bright and clothes that are equally eye-catching.

Eventually they'll take a break in the Great Door Hunt to do some people-watching-- they've found a place to perch, chin resting on the palm of one hand while they keep an eye on the street. Everything about them just screams boredom, most of it intentional; there's an occasional over-dramatic sigh just to make a point. Feel free to bother them if you can tolerate the dramatics.

Or, if they spot someone they think is interesting (or anyone they think is ignoring them), they might hop down from their perch to go accost them and sling an arm around their shoulders (or waist, if the person's too tall for Oleander to reach), giving them a bright and very toothy grin.]

It isn't the first time he spots Oleander, because he'd seen him run about, yet been too busy looking for... well, mostly himself, to really give it much attention at that point. As tempted as he had been to run along. Just because. But never mind that.

Oleander has occupied a tree in the park, and seems like such a curious person that the Doctor has to approach, naturally. ]
