EVENT LOG: FOURTH WALL!

June 15-16 / Day 464:

Not long after sunrise on Day 464, the air in the city will become briefly charged with magic. It will feel something like static electricity, hanging noticeably before dissipating suddenly a half-minute later. This will mark the beginning of the Visitor's Event! Starting then, characters old and new will begin to tumble into the city. They may appear anywhere there is room for them: in the middle of the street, on top of the Ferris Wheel in Hel's creepy amusement park, in the Comfort House, or ten feet in the air above the lake! Visitors may appear at any point during the duration of the event.

The city's natives will begin to usher them to the courtyard of the palace at the center of the city, where Freyr and the Welcoming Committee will have set up stations. This is where they will be given a bracelet to allow them to communicate with the network and reside safely in the city, provided with food and drink, and given camping supplies - basic tents and sleeping bags - if they choose to stay in the courtyard.

June 17-18 / Day 465:

A minute after midnight, all characters in the city - including the freshly arrived Visitors - may notice something a little odd: a soft, warm glow through their shirts, right at the center of their chests. The light will fade, but it isn't quite finished yet. Starting then, threads of light with that same gold glow will lead from their wrists, beginning as intangible bracelets of light and leading them with anyone they have a "connection" with; what exactly that "connection" is is up to you! It could be romantic interest, or simply belonging to the same world, or sharing a favourite colour. Anything is viable, and they can have "connections" with as many or as few people as you'd like. The closer they get to the person they are bound to, the more brilliant the light. Physical touch will stop the light, and will also bring a sense of something like completion, contentment. When characters close their eyes, the glow of the strings is a soft, gentle one, akin to a nightlight.

The lights are not permanent, and seem to flicker to life and back off again arbitrarily. Your character may have one connection at noon that splinters to fifteen later that afternoon, and then none at all that night. Not all connections will always be "on," and you are welcome to play with this at your discretion! Please note: They will only ever be formed as a result of feelings your character already has - they will not create new ones.

That night, in the Castle Courtyard, Freyr will build an enormous, contained bonfire beneath the Great Oak Tree Merlin planted during an earlier celebration. Things may be rationed, but modest snacks and drinks will still be provided. He will encourage storytelling, games and riddles, and a general welcoming, since who knows how long these new Visitors will be here for, right? Mellow gold lights in the same shade as the ties between the Travelers and Visitors, among other things, will decorate the area to give it a sense of warmth and peace.

June 19-20 / Day 466

Day 466 brings a gentle rain onto the city. Awnings and canopies will be set up in the castle courtyard for shelter, and the Welcoming Committee will continue to operate the bracelet and supply stations for any latecoming Visitors. That evening, a god will make a post to the network, giving notice that the Visitors will soon be sent home, so that people should say their goodbyes. After the given time, they will flicker and then disappear. The strings of light between people will begin to fade at this time as well, a gentle tapering off for a few hours until they are gone for good.

Ryoji Mochizuki | Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 | All days!

[Though the appearance of so many visitors is a little concerning, Ryoji can't help but be excited. He is always willing to introduce himself to new people, flirt with any girls, and, of course, experience confusion over any doubles he may run into.

He ends up finding a few old friends, and by the time the lights appear, Ryoji (and... is that another Ryoji?) are rounding up anyone they're connected to, creating a little conga line of colourful flashes.

He'll be sad when the visitors have to go, but all good things must come to an end. At least the city was vibrant and exciting for the visitors. It was a nice change of pace from the war, and he's happy his new friends didn't have to see any of that destruction.

Speaking of... it's a little hard to send his friends back, knowing what happens in his world. His goodbyes may be a little strained, his smiles a bit forced.]

465 I guess??? just roll with it

[Minato had arrived in Asgard by falling into the lake. It had taken him a bit to realize what was happening - coming straight out of the seal to somewhere wet and cold where he needs to breathe and can move and everything is a bit disorienting. Sudden splashing and flailing brought him to the surface, and then it wasn't that much of a struggle to get to the edge. Thank god he'd joined the swim team.

He was sent to the courtyard with a bunch of others, coughing up water the whole way. A bracelet, some food...and then a strange warmth in his chest, and light appearing around his hands. What is this? What's going on? What happened to the seal? Why is he alive?

He doesn't much feel like socializing, considering he's still dripping and slightly drowned. But following the thread of light...sounds like a plan, at least for the moment. Maybe he'll find answers.]

[The threads were surprising, but Ryoji found them kind of cute. His double had been running around with him, connecting the people who were threaded together and creating a sort of conga line of different colours.

He had finished goofing around and had been about to head back to his dorm when he saw one last thread, and decided he may as well follow it.

He continues down the line until he sees a figure. He can’t exactly tell who it is in the dark, so he just waves for now.]

Hey there! Looks like we’re connected in some way, huh?

[He runs forward until he can see better… and then he freezes in shock, gaping at the person before him. Another one...]

[That voice.

Minato freezes on the spot. It can't be, it's impossible. But then again, he's here, apparently alive and well. His knees feel weak.]

...Ryoji....?

...Minato…

[He tries to shake off his shock, smiling sadly and running closer to Minato.]

So yet another one of you showed up. I can’t say I’m surprised. This place brings in heroes, after all.

[He’s going to have a lot of explaining to do…]

[He can't find his voice yet. What does Ryoji mean 'yet another'?

He opens his mouth, moves it a little with no sound. He can't say he expected a welcome like this, or even a place like this, to be waiting for him. And with Ryoji acting so casually... Minato isn't sure what to say, how to react. He's stunned, frozen in place.

In the end, he doesn't end up saying anything. He just lowers his gaze to the ground in front of him. What does this prickling behind his eyes mean, again...? It's been so long...]

[Oh, Ryoji knows that look. He frowns and rushes forward to hug Minato tightly, not even taking the time to think if Minato would find this strange.]

Hey… please don’t cry, okay? I’m here. It’s all okay. We’re…

[He swallows and shakes his head.]

We’re both safe now. There’s nothing to worry about.

[He squeezes tighter, trying to ignore his own tears threatening to overflow.]
