[At the sudden conversation, Diana's response is of course to smile kindly. To his question, she gives a half nod.]

Relatively. I had a brief stay here roughly a few months ago, judging by how time has passed, but it seemed that the gods wished for my return.

[Her smile grows] Is it that obvious that I've just arrived?

I haven't seen you before. Believe me, I would have noticed.

[He smiled back.]

You've been here before though? Gone and come back?

[That was interesting. He hadn't run into someone with that experience yet.]

[The flirtation pretty much flies right over her head, since she just thinks it's a factual comment on her rather imposing figure. So she continues without a beat or a falter of her smile.]

Yes. I spent about a month here, though how long has passed since I've yet to figure out properly. It has certainly been a few months by the time here, but very little time had passed in my own home.

[For Castle's part, she's still smiling, so that's good.]

Time's kind of wonky here, I've noticed. Of course I haven't been home and back. I think you're the first person I've met who's done that before.

It seems to be a rare event. I noted it on my initial search through the past posts of the Travelers.

[Yes, Diana spent the time to go skim over every post. Preptime might be something she's picked up from Bruce over the years, who knows.]

Though I don't recognize you, so you must have arrived after I left. [She offers her hand to shake] I am Diana, perhaps known to you as Wonder Woman. But please, call me Diana.

[He laughs lightly and shakes her hand.]

I.. would be pleased to call you Diana if you'd prefer. It's really nice to meet you. I'm Richard Castle."

[Her grip is firm and powerful, clearly speaking of her physical power (though her appearance in general speaks that clearly enough) and also of a great confidence. Not surprising at all for Wonder Woman, really.]

It's very nice to meet you as well, Richard. If I may ask, how long have you been here?

[He notices. It's pretty hot, quite frankly.]

About four months. I.. don't think you were here when I arrived. I'm sure you're aware of the crazy stuff that happens around this place.

[Her hand is withdrawn with a chuckle]

Very. I spent a fair amount of time on my initial arrival to see what had happened in this city and keep a written record for it. I could not track everything, naturally, but just focusing on the actions of the gods was more than enough. They concern me more than a Traveler's actions, since gods can be... [She pauses, briefly] ...difficult.

But four months at least is quite a bit to catch up on. My work lays clearly ahead of me, for which I suppose I am grateful.

[writeswrongs]

[He smiles at her use of the word 'difficult'.]

Understatement of the century. Most of the people here are decent, if not a bit strange. Guess that happens when you get a bunch of people from different universes together.

[And again, she chuckles, though this one is much closer to a laugh, at least.]

Perhaps. But despite my disagreement with their methods, I do understand the means they are trying to achieve. But they often do not understand the nature of mortals as well as they claim, which I say with respect. But I imagine that is where the variation comes in, since if they wanted the most efficient way to win their war, they would have chosen warriors for each of their Champions.

Warriors?

[Did he look like a warrior to her? Wait, don't answer that. He's a very capable fighter, or something.]

For people who are supposedly chosen, we're not always treated that well.

No... And I worry about that, though they have said it was out of their control, at times.

[Diana looks thoughtful for a moment, as she seems to consider something, but it's fairly quickly dismissed. She can't make parallels to the pantheons she knows.] I wish that I could speak with them personally. As do many, I'm sure, but I only wish it so that terms may be struck for the protection of those brought here. We are their Champions, but I believe there is a misunderstanding somewhere that prevents us from being able to serve in that function in a way that benefits us both.

I don't think they care about benefitting us both, honestly.

[After The Darkness, this seemed to be more of a one-sided relationship.]

That may be true. But I wish to believe until proven otherwise that they would be open to the logic in the idea of something that may benefit them, which is their concern, while simultaneously benefiting us... I believe that the goal that I've found for myself after hearing of the severity of recent events is to ask an audience with all or at least one of them.

[She smiles, something close to a sarcastic tone in her voice] It may be a fruitless effort, but I would still like to try.

[She's optimistic and, well, he likes that. He just can't feel the same way after he watched his girlfriend get turned into a zombie and then killed.]

Maybe they'll listen to you.

[She was practically a god herself.]

I can only hope. If they would give me even a short audience, I would be glad for the opportunity.

If they don't listen to you, I don't think there's much hope for the rest of us.

[She was incredibly imposing. In a sexy way.]
