[Diana smiles warmly, giving a small nod, but when she speaks, her expression turns serious again.]

It's brave of you to admit. So my offer to help guide you still stands, though I must ask, why is it that you want to train yourself? What do you want to learn?

Anything, I guess. Maybe more.. formal ways to defend myself, you know? I can punch or kick anything pretty easily, but people keep telling me that's not going to be enough.

[ and in the end, it indeed wasn't enough - which is what got her so down now to begin with. ]

[She frowns slightly, and briefly, because she doesn't like the idea of anyone here trying to pass that judgement on others. By her understanding, not everyone here is suited to battle, and that is fine. They shouldn't be pressured into becoming fighters. But the frown passes into a smile once more.]

So self defense? That is easy enough to teach. A few hours work and you should be able to protect yourself within reason. I could teach you, or if you would prefer, there are some workers here at the arena who would be willing to teach as well.

.. I don't mind learning from you.

[ Because she's too scared the workers are those grey people, and they still.. frighten her a little, they're slightly too disturbing. Besides, this woman seems nice enough. ]

[Her smile warms again, and she closes the distance so that she can offer her hand] But an introduction is needed first. My name is Diana.

Ah.. right! [ She's been so out of it that she even forgot about something this basic, huh? She fumbles for a moment, but then quickly grabs the hand, shaking it briefly. ]

My name's Asahi, Asahi Yuki. It's nice to meet you.

[Her hands are roughly calloused from years of fighting, and her handshake is strong and confident.]

And you as well, my sister. We can begin immediately if you want, but we can also wait.

[ at least that much is nice. it's somewhat reassuring to feel something that confident, after the sense of helplessness from having been able to do nothing during the darkness event. as if it'll be okay now, one way or another.. even if she can't forgive herself, she can always try to be stronger next time, right? ]

Right now's fine! [ the spirit returns to her voice a little. ] Better now than never, right?
