END OF ARC 1: DAY 169-170 DOWNTIME
[The first battle is over, but the second will begin any time. For two days, the enemy forces will remain on the other side of the battlefield, working on strategy and tending to their wounded. Both sides have taken heavy losses, and the Arena is full of the hurt and dying.
The battlefield itself has turned to a bloody, muddy mess. The elves will be asking the Army Engineers group and anyone else willing to help them lay timber and gravel out to make the ground easier to walk on for the next battle.
What will you do in your breathing space? Keep working, mourn your losses, or retreat from the horrors of war?]
[ooc note: This log takes place IC on Days 169-170/Nov 4-7. Please be sure you've read the plot post and the battle log's starting info thoroughly. Make absolutely sure that you include the day/rough time in the subject line of top-level comments, as well as if your thread is open or closed.
In addition to the battle log, there is a full-event log for those hiding out in Folkvang here. If you have any questions, please direct them to the mod post so everyone else can see them!]

What is wrong, Souji?
Meow.
[ Ah. A cat. ]
Wow, what a cute kitten...!
no subject
That cat is stuck up in the tree. I tried to climb up there to rescue it, but I can't reach it. [It was up pretty high...]
no subject
That is unfortunate. I would fly up to fetch it, but that is impossible. [ Then she hits her palm with her fist. She's got it! ] Oh, I know what we can do! According to my calculations, you can reach the kitten if we apply the right amount of force to your body so that you may travel vertically and successfully retrieve him!
[ so, in other words... ]

Meow...
[............................ wait.]
... What do you mean by "travel vertically"?

I guess it can't be helped. If anyone will throw me up there, I think I can trust you, Alisa.
no subject
[ Alisa crouches down and offers her hands as footing for him to stand on. ]
no subject
I'm in your hands. [literally. He gets into position and braces himself, looking up at his goal. Cat...!!!]
no subject
When I am about to throw you, I will give you a signal.
[ When Souji steps onto Alisa's gloved hands, she lifts him up, careful not to do anything that would get him off balance. ]
Are you all right there, Souji?
Meow...
no subject
I'm okay, for now...
M...eow....
[Spotting the kitten, he uses his upper body to climb up till he could sit on the thick branch and take the feline in his arms. Well, that was one objective accomplished. Now he just had to get down...]
no subject
But there is one problem.
The course of action we decided to take was the quickest among the 256 possibilities I have calculated. I approximated the probability of this result at thirteen percent so I did not make the necessary precautions for it. Unfortunately, I do not know how to climb.
[ Ah... ]

I will catch you! Please jump.
no subject
but it wasn't like he had any other option here.]
... Then please catch us. [the kitten also clings to his shirt with its claws, as if anticipating this great fall.] Here I go!
[and he jumps...!]
sorry... for the late tag....
Falls on her bottom as she catches them both. That's got to hurt, right? She doesn't look bothered by it, though. ]
Are you alright, Souji!?
yana is never late to me
However he was currently in the arms of a robot girl made of robot parts, so all was not bad. And then he became the heroinetagonist.] I'm fine. That was a good catch.
[The kitten clinging his shirt meows too, as if signifying its okayness as well.]
What about you? Didn't that hurt?
kya doc.............
Will you give it a name? [ She asks as she holds the heroinetagonist in her arms. ] We must name all animals we befriend. Those are the rules.
always early!!

I'm not sure if it's a girl or a boy though... [There's only one way to check... but with Alisa watching, he feels hesitant.]

1/2
no subject
... Then I'll leave that up to you.

[ She takes the cat from Souji, makes it face her, raises it to her eye level and looks at its genitals intently. ]
no subject
Did you find anything? [I.....................]
