END OF ARC 1: DAY 169-170 DOWNTIME
[The first battle is over, but the second will begin any time. For two days, the enemy forces will remain on the other side of the battlefield, working on strategy and tending to their wounded. Both sides have taken heavy losses, and the Arena is full of the hurt and dying.
The battlefield itself has turned to a bloody, muddy mess. The elves will be asking the Army Engineers group and anyone else willing to help them lay timber and gravel out to make the ground easier to walk on for the next battle.
What will you do in your breathing space? Keep working, mourn your losses, or retreat from the horrors of war?]
[ooc note: This log takes place IC on Days 169-170/Nov 4-7. Please be sure you've read the plot post and the battle log's starting info thoroughly. Make absolutely sure that you include the day/rough time in the subject line of top-level comments, as well as if your thread is open or closed.
In addition to the battle log, there is a full-event log for those hiding out in Folkvang here. If you have any questions, please direct them to the mod post so everyone else can see them!]

Yeah, I know. I was having it worked on for a while now, they just finished it. And good timing too, if this war is going to be on for a while.
no subject
[Except the thought of the war going on isn't a happy one, even if it seems likely.]
... Do you think it will? I mean-- that the war will last much longer. [Not that she's really in any position to expect that it won't, exactly, she'd just appreciate his thoughts.]
no subject
... I don't know, but I hope not.
... I've only known war in books and from what Master told us... but experiencing it? It's... horrifying. It's nothing like fighting Unversed back home. There are so many people involved, and everyone is just... fighting...
no subject
I... think I understand. I've never seen so many people in so much pain. I'm sure it's nothing compared to being out there, but--....
[Head shake.] The sooner this ends, the better. [Assuming it's a favorable ending for them, of course.]
no subject
... it makes me miss the days where all we have to worry about is being aged up or down and rampant animals everywhere.

Roger on that, ma'am!

Good luck. You may need it.

And of course it's not over yet. [Even if it'd be nice if that was the case. She'll not soon forget it, but at least keeping busy has been able to keep her mind off of the fact that even if they've been making progress with this round of injured, there'll soon be another. Sigh.]

Sometimes it seems like nothing is, but... especially things like this. Someone's always fighting someone else.

Oh-- yes. Just... thinking too much, I guess. [Here, have an attempt at a smile.]

... It's nothing. I just... wish people would hurt each other less often. You know?

...
... earlier when I was down on the battlefield, I almost got in trouble. One of the enemy soldiers almost got me.

But...
At this rate, I have no choice, huh?
no subject
... No. You still have a choice. It's not an easy one, and it might cost you more, but... I can't really blame you. If you're not ready to do that to someone else, then-- you're just not ready. [Even if she knows the value and necessity of putting an end to someone permanently... it's hard to encourage him to do so when it can be avoided, when he doesn't feel right about it.
Way to try to protect his innocence, Naminé--] Just... remember that it can be very dangerous.no subject
