Well. [He looks a bit sour, both over his own dismal show and Draco's response, managing to draw himself up a fraction of an inch. He remembers seeing the Malfoys huddled awkwardly in the Great Hall, after the battle had been done, though like everyone else in the room he hadn't paid them too much attention. He doesn't really know the whole story, but he figures it probably wasn't an abiding desire to preform daring acts of self-sacrifice for the sake of minor acquaintances and complete strangers that brought the Malfoy family back to Dumbledore's side.] I suppose they felt knocking off Voldemort's great ugly snake and a bunch of his army was a good enough resume. What'd you do?

Wait, no, what the hell. Nobody actually told him about that. He knew that the war ended and he knew about Potter and his mother's part in it.

But Longbottom?]

You realize making up stories won't actually help your case, don't you, Longbottom?

[Neville flushes, hotly.]

Hey! I haven't done! [He reels himself back in quickly, though, cross over having risen to the bait so easily. He's not in Fourth Year anymore, and for Merlin's sake, he's dealt with far worse than Draco Malfoy. He ought to at least try to act like it.] I- never mind. I don't have anything to prove to you, Malfoy.

[He can't help but smirk again. At least he can still get a rise out of some Gryffindors. That's always fun. But things still aren't adding up and that is still driving him completely insane.]

You may as well. Everyone else has told me how their war story ends, though 5 points to Gryffindor for creativity.

[Neville huffs, looking intensely torn between protesting further and pretending to be above-it-all. He settles for halfway between the two.]

Well, ask everyone else, then. Harry and Hermione were both there, and that's what happened.
