IT TAKES ONE SHOUT [open]

What: A very, very open mingle for snowfights and snowfight-related shenanigans, as laid out here!
When: D555 afternoon, in the middle of the winter celebrations
Where: EVERYWHERE. Or at least everywhere where there's still snow, which is most everywhere.
Rating: PG-13

They say it takes one shout to start an avalanche, and that shout goes "Alright! Ready, set - wait, what are you...!?"

But the truth is, it takes less than that. A brief spark of enthusiasm in the brain of the wrong person can be enough to gather a whole motley crew of Asgardian newcomers, Welcome Committee workers and curious bystanders down by the lake shore. A quick glance around at the oh so pristine snowdrifts blanketing the grass can be all it takes to set them off.

Besides, who is they? It's a good question. At the start, around noon, when the first few stray snowballs happen to accidentally catch people who were strolling through Gefion Park as if they'd never been grey, it might have mattered. After the crossfire that follows, chasing its instigators out into the streets, smashing into natives and visitors and Travellers alike, not so much. And after the flurry turns into a full-on snowstorm that bombards the winter festivities with a fury that hasn't been seen since Thiazi's, who in their right mind would worry about who was to blame? At least, not before they've found a place to hide - or, in one way or another, the means to fight back.

As they also say: you'd better watch out...

That turn of the head is enough-- Ayumu doesn't bother to mask his footsteps, just another passerby in the crowds of people throwing snow around as he approaches from the right almost casually.

But as soon as he's close enough, he sends a well packed snowball zooming straight for the side of Eyes' head.

... That is the sound of a snowball hitting its target.

Not only that, but it's also the sound of his glasses being knocked askew.

You have approximately two seconds to run for it while you can, little brothers.

Or they could try to bombard him, either way there will be retaliation soon enough.

The best defense is a good offense, and it isn't as though Hizumi is entirely unprepared himself. He's got a snowball too, which he is only too happy to lob at Eyes' head once he darts out from behind the cover of one of the park's trees. He's already scooping up more snow even before the snowball reaches its target, although if Eyes tries to take any steps he may just find one of his feet refusing to move the way he wants it to.

Ayumu takes that as cue from Hizumi to snatch up his own handful of snow, flinging it at Eyes as a distraction to slow him down further and then darting off behind the cover of a tree to make more.

Why are they so intent on hitting his head? Glasses aside, he can still see who the culprits quite clearly, and makes a soft tch sound. But it only takes one attempt to step forward to realise exactly what was going on.

So this was how they wanted to fight, was it? Very well, he'd take out the more troublesome one first. All it takes is four sharp whistles, and Hizumi at least would have the sensation that he was being chased.

In the meantime, he had to deal with Ayumu from where he was...

Hizumi gives a yelp, stumbling back with a sudden feeling of intense fear, like he was being pursued. He knows it's only Eyes' power, but even so, it's all he can do to keep himself from bolting immediately.

Sorry Ayumu, he's out of the fight for the moment.

Ayumu hears Hizumi's yelp, and a quick glance confirms him to be looking pretty tense for reasons unknown. It's enough to make Ayumu falter in the act of packing yet another snowball, just a little, as he tries to figure out what was wrong.

An opening for Eyes to take, if he's quick.

And take advantage of it he does—a few more whistles, and the air would be filled with illusions of snowballs flurrying toward both of them. He even moves his arms as if he's throwing several at a time, but in reality it's just one snowball heading right toward Ayumu's face in the midst of it, while he does actually begin to gather some snow to make real ones.

Though somewhere in the back of his mind he's wondering why he's indulging this. Oh right, they knocked off his glasses, and he did have his pride.

Hizumi quickly ducks down, shielding his face with his hands to avoid the perceived snowballs as he backs off to try to get behind that tree for cover again. Logically, he knows it's impossible, but given it's Eyes he doesn't doubt there could be something real hidden in there, and he's not about to take any chances.

The flurry of snowballs makes Ayumu duck back behind the tree, the real snowball just barely missing his face and smashing into the bark where his face had been, splashing a little snow his way in spite of missing it's mark. The absence of the others actually connecting likewise links two and two together in his mind as he realizes what's up.

Really, was he the only one not using his powers here....?

He reaches back down, gathering a snowball anew rapidly as he waits for Eyes to pursue.

Hizumi seems to have much the same idea as Ayumu, beginning to make snowballs on his end too. Just because he can't rely on his vision doesn't mean it's impossible for him to throw anything.

As soon as he's got one ready, he throws it with as much speed and power as he can manage, ignoring what he hopes are all illusory snowballs.

And Eyes just barely dodges it, frowning faintly as he takes several steps backwards to remove himself from the line of fire as best as he can while he quickly throws another snowball in Ayumu's direction.

If he gets a few seconds to get a better view of his surroundings he can turn the situation back in his favour, there was only so long before they braved the illusions more...
