[she looked down at Aradia's bracelet and frowned, pointing at it.] No, you're Heimdall now. The gem's the wrong color for you to be in Hel. Must have been justice boy who called you back instead of the living dead bitch. And, don't worry about scaring me. You're just odd. I know you're not a demon at this point.

Thousands of ... [Shudder. She just had the image of thousands of Gamzee.] Right, it might be the same you but with altered memories or another you then. You trolls make about as much sense as a blue moon.

As for the bubbles, nothing like that here. Really different way to handle the afterlife, but every world's different.

[She looks down at it. She totally missed that. She kind of got excited about other things.] Is that common here? It sounds like a very odd system.

Thousands of me! I'm in charge of time, so it's common for multiple copies of me to be around. But I haven't been able to use any of my powers I usually had since arriving here. [Making even less sense.]

I'll just have to figure this place out. I won't have as much help as I did before, since the dead can't speak to me, but that's okay. It'll be like a new adventure.

[Oh yeah, Samantha had forgotten that part about Aradia. She made no fucking sense. It was like talking to a giggling, smiling version of Charon mixed with Father Time, only with all the other things about trolls added at once.

She pinched the bridge of her nose.]

Ummm, so you're going to end up having this explained again no doubt, but your powers don't work here. Mine don't either. You've got one of two powers if you're out of Heimdall, since according to one of the guys who's kidnapped us here, you're tied to his soul and powers. You either transfer energy to boost others' powers, or you can take their wounds on yourself. Time powers, thousands of yous, talking to dead people? Nope, not happening here.

God, every day I think I've figured something out about trolls... Anyway, welcome back. We never did go out for drinks the other....

[Aradia understood everything, but makes absolutely no sense to everyone. It happens. Even a lot of the trolls didn't really understand her.]

That makes sense! I can't fly either, which makes me wonder why they let me keep my wings. I do like them though! [At least she can flap them uselessly! Yeahhh useless flapping wings.] So I share his powers. That's fine. They sound helpful for others.

Going crazy? I think so, because that doesn't make sense to me. We can go out for drinks though! If a previous version of me promised, than I'll keep that promise too!

Not really a promise. You were bored and asking for something to do... nevermind, drinks. Now, or later? I'll explain about the other after I've got something in me, because I think I'm going to need it.

[She caught sight of the wings and blinked. She couldn't remember if Aradia had had wings before. Maybe?]

We can go now. I haven't eaten since I've arrived. [Do people eat the same thing trolls do? She gets the feeling grubsauce isn't exactly universally acceptable.] I wouldn't want you to explain things until you're ready. I have time. I promise.

[It's cool. They're decoration now apparently.]

[She motioned for Aradia to follow, her tail swishing behind her as she walked. Picking a reasonable bar wasn't impossible, especially since Hel and Heimdall were some of the districts she'd spent more time in. As they walked, she glanced over towards Aradia.]

So, how long have you been back?

[Aradia follows after the other, but tries to keep up enough so she isn't too far behind to make conversation.]

Not very long! I kind of just arrived, actually. I know that I'm part of Heimdall and the basics of what's going on.

A lot of what they said's crap. There's some truth in it, but I wouldn't trust anything the faceless witch said to you too closely. These gods are keeping their fair share of information from us. But, the whole thing about emotions bringing color, the gray sucking the life out of you without the bracelet and there being a war going on.

[Hard to understand as Aradia might have been, there was some mild relief in talking to her again. She did, at least, feel fairly innocent when they'd spoken before, just weird. It meant there were three 'nice' trolls around.]

Why would they lie to us if they wanted our help? They sound a lot like the First Guardian. [Which isn't exactly a good thing. Oh well.] We'll be able to go home once the war is over, right? You said I've been here before, so that means things have been happening for awhile.

[Aradia is definitely one of the nicer trolls! And she's also the type who won't take shit from others.] Do we know what kind of war we're in?

I have no clue. People go home all the time, and we're just at declarations of war really, so I couldn't tell you what'll happen when this crap is over. I have no real idea how long that will take to begin with. As for why they'd lie? Odin seems to hate us being here. Freya and Freyr are supposedly political prisoners. Loki's a lying, mischievous dick. Baldr's just a dick. Heimdall's pretty much a toady to Odin. Haven't ever seen Hel, and I'm going to call that a good thing, because I still want to punch the bitch for giving me my powers and putting me in her little house of horrors. I hear Sigyn's ok.

It's like a bad soap opera, only with shadows leaping out, possessing people, tornadoes, frost fairies and little flaming imps according to folks. So, the whole war thing's pretty much fighting monsters and prepping to fight bigger monsters, or something like that. But I've only been here for around two months.

I assume we'd get to go home! But it's weird. If they don't want us here, than why are we here? [Aradia wants to know! But she barely knows what's going on. She has her work cut out for her.] This isn't so bad. I think it could be a lot worse! But I usually had a better understanding of the game we were playing than this.

Oh! I can fight! It'll be harder without my normal powers, but I think I'll be okay. Troll society was built on fighting, so I guess that might explain why we're popular to pull.

Odin's a jackass, but I get the feeling he's stuck with us, or at least that's what some of them seemed to say. And yeah... it could have been a whole lot worse. I've definitely seen worse.

Yeah, I've sort of caught onto the whole Trolls Are Violent People sort of thing. I've been meaning to ask someone about that at some point, really because I'm really not sure how to deal with something. You ever heard of anyone hating someone at first sight?

[No... her tone said she wasn't talking about regular hatred.]

I wonder how we ended up here if they can't take us back. I guess they can't, or he would have sent us back by now.

It's actually probably a lot more common than people tend to think. The black quadrant takes time to develop, but you can easily go black for someone upon meeting. Like how you can probably be flushed for someone at first sight. It would be kind of surprising, but it's not completely unheard of. You just have to be careful since something like that might escalate quickly and you might end up killing each other instead. That's what an auspistice is for though.

[She shrugged and shook her head.]

I've got no clue what goes into these 'gods' heads. You figure it out, tell me. I'd love to know.

I don't know how clean it works when you're not dealing with a troll. I'm not a troll. I'm a half-demon, half some twisted, depraved, violent sociopath I have to keep under control. Like you said... escalation's a problem, though Eridan said a Aus was supposed to keep it from going totally black in the first place. I don't even know if it's a good idea for me to think about another species' crap.

I'll try! I kind of like it here. The buildings are different to what I'm used too and the general population seems less violent. Although, humans are much less so versus trolls, so that's to be expected.

I don't know how a quadrant would translate for someone who isn't a troll. It doesn't seem to be a widely used system in terms of romance, but there seems to be a lot of us around if you need help with it. I'm not exactly a master about this though. If you speak to Karkat, he might be of more help to you. That's assuming if he's here though.

[She shook her head pretty vigorously at that name's mention. There was a decided lack of comfort as soon as Karkat entered the conversation as a potential adviser.]

Karkat's out. I think he's gone right now period, and even if he was, I can't go to him about this. He reacted bad the last time we talked, and I know why. He's got too much of a vested interest to think about this, and I'm not moving until I'm more sure.

And there really isn't a clean equivalent for humans, but I haven't ever had what you'd call a normal human relationship. My other side makes that nearly impossible. But I can talk with Eridan about it a bit more maybe. He at least has something to say... about everything.

I'm not really an expert on this, but I can try to help! Maybe some of the other trolls might be better at it. [She's only really had a matespritship and maybe was black on a few occasions. But it was different since she wasn't really alive either.]

Oh. Eridan is here! He could probably help with that a lot. I'm pretty sure he had a blackrom or an attempted blackrom. [Eridan and quadrants, man.]

How's about this? Let me ask around for a bit, and I'll give you an update once I know a little better what's going on? We could go out for drinks then or something.

In the meantime, hell if I know what we were going to do today. Was I going to show you the carnival or something?

A carnival? I've only ever heard about them! [And the ones she's thinking probably has to do with clowns and religion and whatever else you'd affiliate with Gamzee.]

It's kind of a macabre carnival Ghosts wander it at night. Freaky place.

Ghosts wander it? Can we talk to them? Do you think we can have a party? I mean, there aren't any corpses, but it's like the same thing. [You forget that Aradia is pretty happy about morbid things like this.]

I have never really tried to find out. [She had forgotten, until this moment.] It is a spooky themed place that becomes moreso in the evenings. I sometimes wonder if they are merely illusions or Hel's doing.

We should try! [Good life decisions.]I want to come at night! It sounds like a lot of fun. Maybe they'll be more talkative at night.

heh, yeah. That can be arranged. I've got time today anyway, so we might as well take our time getting over there. Long as nobody's blowing no damned horns in our ears, we'll be fine.
