END OF ARC 1: DAY 169-170 DOWNTIME
[The first battle is over, but the second will begin any time. For two days, the enemy forces will remain on the other side of the battlefield, working on strategy and tending to their wounded. Both sides have taken heavy losses, and the Arena is full of the hurt and dying.
The battlefield itself has turned to a bloody, muddy mess. The elves will be asking the Army Engineers group and anyone else willing to help them lay timber and gravel out to make the ground easier to walk on for the next battle.
What will you do in your breathing space? Keep working, mourn your losses, or retreat from the horrors of war?]
[ooc note: This log takes place IC on Days 169-170/Nov 4-7. Please be sure you've read the plot post and the battle log's starting info thoroughly. Make absolutely sure that you include the day/rough time in the subject line of top-level comments, as well as if your thread is open or closed.
In addition to the battle log, there is a full-event log for those hiding out in Folkvang here. If you have any questions, please direct them to the mod post so everyone else can see them!]

RIGHT IN THE KOKORO, ROXAS
[Lea stops them right there. He really can't keep walking with this feeling in his chest at those words. Both hands go to Roxas' shoulders, making sure he's looking at him before saying anything.]
I won't leave you. No matter what. Promise.
no subject
very quickly he throws his arms around the other's middle and buries his face there, quivering but managing to at least keep his eyes from getting too wet. He won't trust his voice. ]

[okay, well he wasn't quite expecting that-- Lea's just kind of. stunned for a couple of moments before he wraps his arms around Roxas in return, holding him tightly.]
Hey, Roxas...

Battle-hardened his old self may have been, until three months ago this one thought he was a normal kid who's biggest challenge was getting his homework done. ]
no subject
[holds him back just as tightly, one hand brushing over his hair and running down his back to try and soothe him. Lea spots an open bench and carefully maneuvers them both over there. It takes a little bit of coaxing to get Roxas to let go enough to sit, but he joins him a moment later, staying close.]
Hey, look at me.

[gently tilts his chin up, trying to catch his eyes.]
Look at me.

We're partners, right? We stick together. No matter what happens, I'll be with you. I'm not in a hurry to lose you again.
;u; HE WAS SOU WORRIED
It....it happened before, when I thought--
Everyone was...annihilated. It said that, I remembered.

[there's a cautious pause as he debates whether or not he should pursue this.]
What are you remembering, Roxas?
