WINTER FESTIVAL YEAH

[The snow sure is nice, isn't it?

Well as of today, there's also a festival to keep the fun going! In the park there are tables upon tables of delicious snack foods and drink from every world imaginable. A stage has been set up and musicians both local and from the allied regions of the world will be playing there day and night. If a Traveller would like to perform they'll also be given the opportunity to take the stage.

Since many of the allies from the big battle are still around, the sights, sounds and smells are extra varied this time. There will be people from all over playing games, ice skating, and generally doing anything wintery outdoor funlike.

For the House banquets on the evening of Day 196, there will be separate logs, so keep your eyes peeled!]

[Always a positive trait, as far as those KH kids are concerned. -- OH GOSH PIKACHU NO--]

Oh...! Do you need me to carry you, Pikachu?

[Not that Red can't, but she feels kind of responsible--]

You don't need to, but if you want? [ He only blinks a couple of times because he knows how Pikachu acts and he's pretty sure this isn't one of those that should be taken too seriously.

But if she wants!! He'll shrug. ]

It's the least I can do. [Poor Pikachu. :C That was kind of her fault, as far as she's concerned. She'll just hold her arms out for Pikachu, if he does want to be carried.]

[ PIKACHU WILL JUMP INTO HER ARMS and curl up as much as he can while trying to get warm.

That is yes, he wants to be carried and coddled like a baby. ]

[Hey, if it weren't for her he'd probably need considerably less warming. She's a bit startled but catches him well enough, and to make up for inconveniencing him she wraps her arms around him as cozily as she can manage, hoping to help with both his normal and temperature-related comfort. (Not that she wouldn't have done her best to help him anyway, but details.) Once he seems settled,]

There. Comfortable?

[ Pikachu continues to curl up in her arms without really moving, but he feels a lot better! Red will chuckle a bit watching them act cute and stuff before leading them away from the lake. ]

He'll probably stay inside for a while now. [ Bad pika adventure. ]

[She doesn't seem to mind the chuckling, though she does send a small smile Red's way that is somewhat apologetic.]

I don't blame him. [Her eyes lower, her smile disappearing] I hope I didn't discourage him. [From wintery funtimes, that is, if such things held some interest for him before.]

He should actually be used to it. [ He scratches his cheek as he looks up to the sky to muse a bit. ]

We were staying on a mountain before Asgard.

[Her eyes turn Red's way, considering him a moment.]

A mountain? I've never been to one of those before. [Pause.] Why were you staying there?

We were training? [ Let's go to some place warmer... Maybe this cafe or something. ]

It was more like we stopped by. [ For three years. He stops in his tracks for a bit thinking. ] Really nice.

I'll show you one day. [ SOMEHOW. ]

[She'll follow his lead on that, mostly focused on the conversation and looking after Pikachu.] Oh...! I didn't know a mountain was good for that.

[Stopped by? Well, she has no idea how long that 'stopping by' actually took, so she just ends up smiling.] I'm glad...! [And she's just considering adding that she'd like to see such a place when he makes that statement and she stops to blink at him, clearly confused.]

... I'd-- like that, but... how would you manage that? I'm not sure the gods would help you if you wanted to bring someone else to your world.

I'm sure there's a mountain somewhere here. [ By here, he means in this world. Pondering on it a couple of times, he'll continue walking. INTO THE CAFE NOW, IT'S COLD. ]

I'll look for it. [ A nod as he holds the door open for her. ]

-- Maybe. [It wouldn't be the same, but... she can deal with that. It's still sightseeing. She stands there next to him a few moments, wondering when he's going to keep walking but not inclined to disturb him. -- Yes, good, into the warm café. She approves of this life decision.]

[She nods his direction with her 'Thank you' and a smile as she steps into said café.] That's very kind of you, Red. [To the door holding and the rest as well.] But don't trouble yourself too much, okay?

[ Nothing beats Mt. Silver, he agrees. A nod to her compliment before closing the door on their way in and picking out a place to sit. Gesturing with a finger now for her to come hither. ]

It's no trouble at all. [ Looking quite fond of the topic. ] I like travelling.

[She will in fact come thither without objection; wherever he wants to sit is fine with her. One quick check to make sure Pikachu's still okay and she's right behind Red.]

If you're sure. [Her eyes are on him and curious at that look. It seems to be the good kind of curiosity; there's a smile complementing it on her lips.] I can see why you would. I've always liked the idea of doing some of it myself. I'm-- glad that you got the chance.

[ Pikachu is staying curled in her arms, but is writhing lively due to the warmth. Otherwise, Red will be checking the menu... Maybe soup would be good to warm them up? ]

You didn't get to travel? [ That's what he got from what she said... Not outright, but it was implied and in a way it's sad. ]

[Oh boy. Well, she's glad to see him doing better, at least. After a bit of maneuvering, she keeps one arm wrapped around him and makes sure he's otherwise settled on her lap before looking up to check the menu, herself. She is probably less familiar with the types of food available or what to expect from them, so she doesn't seem to be likely to make a quick decision.]

[She pauses, eyes shifting back over toward his for a moment. She manages to keep from sounding too sad about it, even if there is just a subtle hint of it somewhere; this is just a fact of life, for her.] No. I didn't really get the opportunity. I... there was too much that needed to be done where I was. [And too many things that might be done TO her if she were to try to go anywhere else, in either one of her living situations at the time. There's definitely something more to it, both in implication and in her tone, but she holds her tongue.]

[ That is okay, Namine. He likes to take his time, too! So he doesn't find it too weird--also there is a good selection of food. He'll flip through some pages to see what kind of drinks are there. ]

Oh. [ That makes sense to him. He nods a couple of times thinking that it had to be responsibilities. It must be difficult, but things have to be done! Despite how kind of depressing it may be, he keeps an optimistic air. ] If you didn't do it, who else will?

But at least this place can be a break for you. [ And he's still scouring the menu for a good period of time after saying that. ]

Did you pick anything yet?

[Phew! She'll be glad to find he doesn't mind. Thank goodness for arranging to have one hand free, because there's plenty to look at in that menu.]

... Right. [He hit the nail on the head, there, even if he may not realize just how much so. The principle is the same, perhaps - but it's different, somehow, when one is literally one of the if not the only person in one's universe capable of completing those responsibilities.] Exactly. [There was more to it, yes, but that part at least was spot on. She smiles.] I never forgot how important it was, even when I wanted to visit other places. It... meant a lot to me, and I think that helped.

[That smile grows.] Mm! It has been. It's been so wonderful getting to do so many things I wanted to but couldn't, before. I've even been meaning to visit Utgard, but-- well, some things got in the way. [Like, you know, the war, and all that.]

-- Oh! Mm-- [Pause.] ... I'm really not sure what would be good. Have you ever been here before?

That's good... Finding purpose and helping others. [ And he'll leave it at that. ]

Utgard. I was planning to go, too. [ But then that thing happened with the biowarfare and he couldn't go anywhere because he was so broken by it. Either way, it answers that he hasn't. Taking off his hat, he scratches his head since all of these choices are really difficult to choose from. ]

I haven't been here before, but I had something similar to these dishes before.

[She nods, smile still there despite her thoughts. Sometimes that was all there was for her.]

Really? [She blinks, curiosity piqued. Question in 3, 2, 1--] Why didn't you? [Asking for it, Red. She watches the motion reflexively.]

Hm.... [Her eyes trail back down toward the menu.] Then-- what would you suggest? [Even if it's not the same, he's gotten closer than she has.]

... Things came up. [ Bad, bad things, but he easily brushes it off to talk about the menu! Placing it down so both of them can look at it, he points to--Wait. He should ask questions! That should be the first thing to do. ]

It depends on what you like.

... Oh. [She pauses; though she's curious, she figures it might be that he'd rather not talk about it. Smiling purposely,] Okay. [She's just leaning in to look at where he's pointing when he speaks again and she stops, blinking up at him for a moment before leaning back again, one hand petting Pikachu absently as she thinks.]

Mm... I'm not picky. Besides - I wouldn't mind trying something new. [~~Also it would be kind of a bad idea to base her food choice on how colorful it is, right--~~]

[ Talking about death is bad... Talking about the death of one of his Pokemon is bad. Talking about death in general is sad--But he'll flip through the menu before pointing to soup, fondue, stew, yeah. Pikachu is actually sleeping peacefully in her arms, only rustling a bit. ]

These are usually warm. Great for cold weather. [ ~~YEAH, THAT IS BAD.~~ ]

[If she knew, she'd be even quicker to leave the subject be. As it is, she focuses on leaning in again to look where he's pointing, careful not to disturb Pikachu.]

I see...! Good advice. [She pauses, considering the menu for a few moments, then,] I think I'll try the soup. [~~WHOOPS THAT HOW SHE'S CHOSEN MOST OF HER MEALS IN THE PAST, HER BAD.~~]
