Who: ANYONE going on the infiltration into Thrymheim!
What: The arrival and struggle to infiltrate Thiazi’s castle.
When: Day 280 ( June 14 - 15 )
Where: Asgard, Thrymheim, and the road inbetween.
Rating: PG-13. Anything that might go higher than that should be taken to a private log, please!

cut because faith really needs to stop rambling one day )

[ OOC NOTES: This is part two of three for the Save Our Souls plot! A couple of reminders for this log: characters that die in the city will be revived in Asgard on Day 284 ( June 22 - 23 ). They will not be able to return to Thrymheim following their deaths; they will wake up in the castle as per the standard resurrection detailed here. Also, House Powers will be functional on this day alone as the gods concentrate most of their energy in giving the Travellers a boost in this battle. Please put the day/location in the title of your comment along with [OPEN/CLOSED]. The first log can be found here and the third and final log can be found here. Let us know if you have any questions! ]

Who: ANYONE going on the infiltration into Thrymheim!
What: Lots of travelling and also rescuing Freyr's soul.
When: Days 278 - 279 ( June 10 - 13 )
Where: Asgard, Thrymheim, and the road inbetween.
Rating: PG-13. Anything that might go higher than that should be taken to a private log, please!

[ Before even the first crack of sunlight over the horizon on Day 278, every bracelet in the city will give a quiet blip! as they activate with a short mass text from the gods:
The time to act has come. Gather at the Gate of Frost by the Sun's first rays if you will, and be prepared to strike at the heart of ice. There is no room for failure.
Exactly as the message implies: it's time to ship off to Thrymheim. Gear up in your best winter clothes and bring whatever weaponry you need; there are wagons thinly concealed and waiting for you at the southern gate that leads to the home of the Frost Giants. Inside the wagons will be those portable heaters that you guys bought in Utgard, along with spare gloves, jackets and scarves for anyone that foolishly believed summer might touch the kingdom of ice. Travellers can also find food rations to last a week alongside a generous amount of medical supplies that may or may not be a bit foreboding.

The caravan will leave at precisely 5AM, driven by the barest amount of Natives to keep travel at a minimum. Secrecy is of the utmost importance, and a severe silence will fall across the few sitting in the back of the wagons with the Travellers. They know the weight of this mission: if you fail, Freyr's soul will remain trapped forever. It is dangerous and no one's lives are guaranteed, so prepare yourselves for a fight quite unlike any other this far.

As you travel further from Asgard, you might notice the terrain getting a bit more uneven as the wagons move through undeveloped areas. There may be the odd village noticeable in the far off distance, but they are nowhere close enough to make out any distinguishable details because you don't want them distinguishing anything about you in return. These villages are few and far between, and grow even less in number the closer the caravan gets to Thrymheim. The terrain goes from rocky but arable to colder and harder, the temperature dropping increasingly as the earth grows solid and unforgiving, eventually peppering with light snowfall even in the midst of Yggdrasil's summer.

It will take two full days to reach Thrymheim travelling at as fast a pace as they can without wearing out the horses or catching unwanted attention. They will make short stops to feed and brush the horses, switch drivers, and allow for any necessary relief - but these breaks will last no longer than ten to twenty minutes at most. Simple meals will be served by the Natives thrice daily, and Travellers are welcome to attempt sleep on one of the meager pallets stocked up if they think they can manage it. Space is not abundant and neither is time. ]

22 March 2013 @ 07:57 am
Who: anyone on the expedition
What: trains and funtimes!
When: Days 238 - 239 (March 22-25)
Where: on a train and then at Salt Side
Rating: PG-13! Anything above that should be taken to a private log. TY!

[The train leaves in the morning of Day 238. Like the one that brought the first bunch of elves to Asgard, it's a thing of wood and clockwork that floats about three feet above the ground. Inside it's a relatively comfortable passenger train with normal seats and snack car with a smooth ride and not too much noise. The ride will last most of the day, reaching the fishing town of Salt Side in early evening.

Upon arrival, the Travellers will be taken to the single large Inn and put up in rooms there. The rooms have four beds each -- feel free to assume anyone is your roommate or make up rooming groups as you will. They'll be given dinner (simple stuff and mostly seafood), and will be free to explore the town. It's very old New England style, populated by humans, elves, and Merpeople (described in the plot doc if you'd like to ctrl+f it). People will be generally friendly and willing to trade stories and items. There is also a nice sandy beach a few minutes' walk down the coast.

The next day (Day 239) is open to more exploring! There will be a great big beach BBQ starting around lunchtime and lasting on into the evening with bonfires and impromptu music and all that good beachy fun. Ran will be available to talk to that day, as she'll be handing out the underwater breathing charms.

Have a good time!]

[ooc note: There will be a log for the Library plot on the 24th and a log for the actual expedition business on the 26th! In the meantime play your pre-exploring party times here. Please note the day/time and location in your subject line, as well as whether it's open or closed. If you need help or an NPC, please contact the mods. Thank you!]

25 February 2013 @ 11:56 pm
Who: EVERYONE
What: candy hearts event!
When: Day 226 (Feb 26-27)
Where: everywhere!
Rating: PG-13 for kissing and punching and things. Take anything higher to a private log please!

[In the middle of the night (or rather the early, early morning), there's a sound somewhat like falling hail. It only lasts a couple of seconds, and is followed by the howl of a single big gust of wind that seems to get through the cracks of windows and doors no matter how well closed or locked they were.

It seems the rain was a shower of candy hearts, and they'll be cropping up all over the place all day!

What could this possibly mean?]

[ooc note: please make sure to include your character's location(s) and [OPEN/CLOSED] in the subject line, and any prefs (no kisses/only negative hearts/etc) somewhere in your top level comment!]

26 December 2012 @ 01:59 pm
Who: EVERYONE
What: Winter Festival Funtimes
When: Days 195-196 (Dec 26-29)
Where: Gefion Park
Rating: PG-13 or less (anything higher please take to a private log)

[The snow sure is nice, isn't it?

Well as of today, there's also a festival to keep the fun going! In the park there are tables upon tables of delicious snack foods and drink from every world imaginable. A stage has been set up and musicians both local and from the allied regions of the world will be playing there day and night. If a Traveller would like to perform they'll also be given the opportunity to take the stage.

Since many of the allies from the big battle are still around, the sights, sounds and smells are extra varied this time. There will be people from all over playing games, ice skating, and generally doing anything wintery outdoor funlike.

For the House banquets on the evening of Day 196, there will be separate logs, so keep your eyes peeled!]

09 December 2012 @ 08:06 am
Who: Open to all, residents and non-residents of Baldr!
What: As promised/threatened here Kon is throwing a party.
When: Day 186
Where: Baldr Welcome Hall -- specifically the living room, kitchen and dining room.
Rating: S for Supermanly. Um, should be safe for general consumption?

[Superboy has not been wasting the time he's been in Asgard in idle contemplation of the grey scenery or in throwing hissy fits about his predicament -- no wait, he did do that. But in addition to wasting his time and throwing the odd super-tantrum, he has also been raiding the Baldr kitchen for junk food, rearranging the furniture for greater capacity to mingle and acquiring a CD deck and some phat tunes. The end result?

This welcome party is jumping, with the bass kicked in and the vegas are pumpin.'Straight to the point, and the point is -- party at Baldr and you're invited!]

02 November 2012 @ 12:15 am
[The moment the sirens sounded, the ladies of Folkvang Comfort House opened their doors. They cleared away their equipment and pulled out the supplies they'd gathered in advance, and began herding children, the elderly, and anyone who needed to hide into their buildings. For the duration of the battles, there will be food, shelter, warmth and safety here, though the smells and sounds of battle are never truly gone.]

[ooc note: This log covers the entire plot, from Day 168 to Day 175. Make absolutely sure that you include the day/rough time in the subject line of top-level comments, as well as if your thread is open or closed.

Also be sure you've read plot post and the set-ups for the other logs before you do anything on those days. The first battle log (Day 168) is here, the first downtime log (Day 169-170) is here. There will be a second pair of battle/downtime logs for the second battle, which we'll link here when they're available! If you have questions, please direct them to the mod post so everyone else can see them/the answers!]

25 October 2012 @ 07:50 pm
Who: Hibiki and YOU!
What: Hibiki's been hit with a regression curse, back to when she was terrified of everyone. But if she's shown some kindness, maybe it can be broken...
When: Day 165
Where: A darker alleyway in Sigyn.
Rating: I can't see it getting above a PG?

I have no friends in the city. The bigger the city, the worse it is to be alone there. )

Who: Norman & Conan (& potentially Shinji)
What: Zombie movie marathon & a sleepover!
When: Day 153
Where: Conan's house
Rating: B-rated for Norman's movies

“Oh My GAHHHHHHHHD!” )

Who: Conan, open!
What: Attempting to summon a god/setting internal ghosts to rest/possibly tantrums.
When: Day 152.
Where: Grounds of Hel's Welcome Hall, before the Altar.
Rating: Mention of death likely!

It's all in the past now. )

30 September 2012 @ 09:43 am
Who: Vanitas ([personal profile] showmeanguish) and OPEN.
What: Almost fully recovered from The Sickness, Vanitas decides to pick up some things for his new room. But he... gets a little sidetracked.

massive tl;dr warning )

19 September 2012 @ 11:06 pm
Who: Anyone going on the second expedition mentioned here.
What: Exploring Utgard and buying food
When: Day 146-149 (August 20-26)
Where: Anywhere in Utgard
Rating: PG-13!

[This is half of the OPT-OUT for the Biological Warfare plot. It spans over the entire plot, so if you send your character on one of these expeditions, you can't participate in that plot.

The second expedition is a shopping trip to Utgard. There will be a small group of natives to drive the wagons (five for supplies, one for riding in) and organize the supplies. Characters will be traveling through the evening of Day 146, making orders at food warehouses in the morning on Day 147, and then they will have free reign to run around the city doing whatever they like for the rest of that day and for Day 148. On Day 149, they'll receive their supplies, pack it up, and come back to Asgard.

Please include the IC Day in your subject line when making top-level threads. Also, remember that Utgard is more high-tech than Asgard! There is more info on it on the World Info FAQ. If you have any questions, go to this thread to ask. Characters did not have to participate in Freyr's network post to join in on these trips!]
