[ Late at night, amidst the crackling of thunder and the flash of lightning cutting across the sky, a bit of unwieldy magic will be coming down upon the city alongside the pouring rain. It is soundless and sudden, unbidden and without warning. By all outward appearances, everything is exactly as it should be. But at its core, the inner turmoil of Asgard will be unravelling to take a firm hold on its occupants and its grasp will not be easily broken.

Sleep lightly and tread carefully; no place in heaven or Hell is quite as dangerous as one's imagination. ]

As a side-note, we did opt to let canon abilities work for this event, but only inside the dreams. No canon abilities will affect anything in the "real world" in any way, shape or form. Half of Asgard won't be sleeping again for awhile, once this passes.

[there's about two seconds of this face, then quick compliance. the couch is a little short to lie face down on, but haha not complaining.]

[she is going to totally aid the situation by straddling his hips, too, although most of her weight is on her knees and not him. and she's not unaware of what she's doing, either, if the hitch and slow of her breathing is any indicator.

that said, she's not joking about working the knots out of his back, if the way her fingers press into the muscles between his shoulderblades is any indication]

I used to get the knots out of my own back and neck often enough. Perhaps it's more effective on other people, though.

[yes, she might be a little amused at his reaction. just a little. it's the kind of massage that's just on the verge of painful]

[sometimes that's necessary, and with how this week has been going...

he mutters something agreeable and smooshes his face into the cushion so she can get his neck better.]

[the mumbling makes her chuckle, and she takes the hint and works on his neck so that he can stop breathing through the couch]

[scoooooore. though he's gonna stay lying on his stomach for awhile...]

[it's going to take awhile to get all these knots out anyway.

and she will kindly not mention any squirming if he doesn't mention that by the time she gets to the base of his spine, she actually is sitting across his hips]

[even when she's gotten all the major knots, she keeps running her hands up and down his back, like she's memorizing the shape of his muscles and bones beneath his skin.

if he still has two braincells to rub together, he might realize that she's being vaguely merciful by not shifting her weight as much as she should be, to reach all the way from his shoulders to his hips]

[his remaining braincells are not calling that mercy.]

[it might be mercy for the couch and/or his jeans, though.

the press of her mouth against the wing of his shoulderblade, on the other hand, probably doesn't qualify as mercy in any way]

[well, maybe if she was just teasing. but no, the way she answers without lifting her head makes it clear she's well aware of what she's doing]

[she'll have to lift her head a little so she doesn't get bumped in the nose when he pushes his shoulders up and twists just a little, so he can look at her.]

[she doesn't move away more than she needs to for him to twist, doesn't look guilty in the slightest. she's got a little more color than usual, her pupils slightly dilated]

[a blink, and then a quirk of her mouth as she lets out an amused breath]

[she climbs off him and stands up, waiting to see where he's planning to go]
