[ It had worked once before, back in the heat of late summer in Asgard, so Jade was trying it again. She had dragged the sign out to the front of the store, right in the middle of the sidewalk, and written in huge letters:

free hot chocolate! :D
just come inside ♥

The temperature hadn't broken the sixty degree mark today - it was getting chilly fast. Both Orihime and Annabeth were gone, and the store was oddly quiet. Jade will be found keeping herself busy throughout the day with odd little chores when it's completely empty of customers - sweeping, dusting, and occasionally dozing in a booth near the door when the boredom becomes too much to bear. ]

[She grins, somewhat reassuringly.] Whyever would I change my mind? I must confess, you've bamboozled me on that one.

[Reassured but a little shy in the face of such topic of discussion anyway, she laughs behind a hand, smile lingering even after she lowers the hand in question again.] I don't know...! Maybe I'm actually really mean and you just haven't seen it yet.

[If you want to convince her of that, Naminé, you probably ought not say it so sweetly.]

[Her mouth makes a little 'o', but it's pretty clear in the rest of Jane's expression that she doesn't buy it for a minute.]

My, my! Isn't that a worrisome thought!

I'm sure...! I would be very frightening if I turned out to be bad, wouldn't I?

[The silly head tilt doesn't really help her case.]

Probably something nefarious and completely unexpected, even for a amateur sleuth such as myself! I best be on my guard.

[The declaration is ruined with a giggle at the end.]

[She has to cover her mouth to try to hide her own giggle. She is unsuccessful.]

Oh, definitely! Surely all this time I've been trying to lull you into a false sense of security. Are you surprised, miss amateur sleuth?

[She raises a finger almost to her lips, like she might make a shushing gesture. She doesn't; it's more the threat of one than anything.]

If I told you that, wouldn't it ruin the whole thing? If I'm going to doublecross you, I figure I should probably do it right.

[She snaps her fingers.] Oh, darn. I guess I'll have to try and uncover your scheme some other way.

[Jane wraps an arm around her middle, the laughter's building up and she can barely contain most of it!]
