[ It had worked once before, back in the heat of late summer in Asgard, so Jade was trying it again. She had dragged the sign out to the front of the store, right in the middle of the sidewalk, and written in huge letters:

free hot chocolate! :D
just come inside ♥

The temperature hadn't broken the sixty degree mark today - it was getting chilly fast. Both Orihime and Annabeth were gone, and the store was oddly quiet. Jade will be found keeping herself busy throughout the day with odd little chores when it's completely empty of customers - sweeping, dusting, and occasionally dozing in a booth near the door when the boredom becomes too much to bear. ]

A little later than that, I think - but it's here now, and I suppose that's what matters.

Is there anything you've ever wished the bracelets could do that they can't? I know you haven't been here long, but... it's a little fun to think about, isn't it?

[That IS a toughie. She fiddles with the danged thing for a moment.]

...I'm not sure. It seems to be like a sort of computer, so...if it can't do some sort of computer thing, maybe that?

Mm-- well, it does seem to function a little like one, yes. ... I bet a lot of people would be happy if it had internet, since I keep hearing about that.

But what would it connect to? Everyone can already talk to one another. I suppose you could shop, or play games, or...other things of that nature, if you created an internet.

I can't say for sure, since I've never really used it, but... yes, that does sound right. I mean-- by the sound of things, the internet was always... a lot bigger? It had more things on it, or something? Not just being able to talk to each other. [She's trying, okay.] I suppose it could connect to Utgard, too?

That could be cool. It could connect to lots of places!

[It is bigger than just communication, but Jane can't quite think of what else a place like Asgard might need.]

Yes...! It might be nice if it were even back in our own worlds, but I'm not sure how that would work.

[It's serviceable enough as it is, that's true - but there's no reason not to speculate.]

Mmhm! Then we wouldn't have to miss the people from our own worlds so much. ... Although I'm not sure how that would work without disturbing the timeline. -- Or at least requiring memory loss.

It would also be awfully distressing for them, I'm sure. They'll ask where you are and you'll have to explain that you're somewhere they may never get to!

[Her expression softens.] Still, I can think of one person I would like to get in contact with, at least.

It really would. It'd be hard for everyone, I think. Maybe that's why it isn't allowed.

[Taking note, Naminé's expression shifts a little, too, her head inclining the slightest of degrees.]

[A little hopefully,] But maybe one day it could be.

Oh. That'd be my Dad! I bet he'd worry himself sick if he knew what was going on here, but it'd make me feel a lot better to speak to him again.

Maybe. [It's not as hopeful, exactly, just-- a matter of possibility.] Stranger things have happened.

I should have known. [He would have been her first guess, truthfully, had she cared to guess.] I sure...! It must be awful to be apart from him. [--....] I'm sorry. I probably shouldn't say things like that.

Oh - no, it's fine, don't worry about it! [No, it's not the best way, but Jane is sure Namine doesn't mean it cruelly.] Though, perhaps he might turn up on his own before then. That would be even better!

You could meet him if he came, too. He's very nice.
