[Ten is walking around, still trying to get familiar with everything, when he spots a very familiar face. He stops dead in his tracks.]

What? No. No, it can't be.

[He rushes over to her, still in disbelief.]

Jenny? Is that...?

[She spun on her heel in the direction of her name. She knew that voice, but the surprise was obvious on her own face that she hadn't expected to run into him here.]

Dad? Dad!

[The surprise only lasted for a short moments before it was turning into the widest and most excited grin and she was running towards him, planning on giving him the biggest hug she could manage. She'd hoped she'd see him again, but she never expected to run into him so soon.]

How...?

[He's still looking at her agape.]

Are you real?

[She let's him go. She's still excited, but she can explain this.]

Of course I'm real! [She looks slightly insulted about him even thinking she wasn't for a second.]

Right, you think I'm dead. [She'd forgotten slightly in her excitement.] Dad, after you left. I woke up! I don't know why, I just did. But you missed it, and then I took a shuttle and then I ended up here! There was this room, and this lady who explained some things, and she gave me this [She shows him the bracelet] and-

[She cuts herself off. She was babbling. Whoops.]

[She is real! His mind is racing with possibilities trying to come up with an answer.]

Bracelet. Yeah, me too. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. And you're not dead.

[His face finally brightens, and he engulfs her in a massive hug.]

No, I'm not dead. I didn't die.

But I saw you, I held your lifeless form. Unless...

[Could it be possible? Her face is the same, but maybe...]

Some residual regenerative energy was taken from me and transferred to you. I mean, you didn't change, but it was enough to heal you. Ohhhhh, but that is brilliant! Why didn't I think about that. Foolish Doctor. I should have realized...

[He nods quickly.]

Yes, but to a much lesser extent.

[And here's where it gets a bit complicated.]

Welllll, Time Lords have this sort of trick which helps them to sort of cheat death. They can do it a certain number of times. Not only does this process heal their bodies, it...changes them, physically. I mean entirely--different face, body type, personality type even. We're still the same intelligence deep down, just a bit of a different exterior. You follow?

Yeah, I think so. But how is that possible?

[She's not going to say it's impossible, because technically she herself should be impossible, but here she was, but she wanted to know how it worked.]

Think of it like there's a kind of energy inside your cells which when they sense the body is dying, this energy is released throughout the body--healing the injuries while forming a new one to do it. And since you're here apparently, you'll see a few of my past selves running about, and at least a future one that I know about.

[This is actually the first time he can recall having to explain regeneration to anyone in a long time. He's hoping the part about his other selves won't be too much for her.]

That all have different faces? [She's sort of getting it, see?]

Yes. All of them have different faces and they're all me--the Doctor. And, when you think about it, we're a bit of a colorful bunch I suppose.

[Oh yeah, she's gonna have to process that part. It's so hard for her to imagine her dad having more then one face.]

How can that many of you be here though? All in the same place?

[He rubs the back of his head.]

Good question. That's a very good question. It shouldn't be possible but somehow we're all here mostly. I think there are certain rules of reality that don't apply to this place--or so I'm told.

Because of the gods here? Or for a different reason? Or is it just the planet?

All of the above? I'm still working out a lot about this place. I got here a bit recently myself.
