[OPEN] Love Me, Love Me Not

[In the middle of the night (or rather the early, early morning), there's a sound somewhat like falling hail. It only lasts a couple of seconds, and is followed by the howl of a single big gust of wind that seems to get through the cracks of windows and doors no matter how well closed or locked they were.

It seems the rain was a shower of candy hearts, and they'll be cropping up all over the place all day!

What could this possibly mean?]

[...Oops.] Yeah, but don't tell anyone, okay? I just mostly use it for communicating and reading thoughts, but when you get to my level, you can manipulate a person's thoughts. It's a lot stronger than using suggestions to redirect thoughts.

I see. Don't worry, I'll keep this between us. [She trusts him, after all.] That's a lot more useful than my power.

[key_illusion]

It's useful for fighting and getting out of tough situations, but if someone knows you have it, they'll probably be suspicious of you. [He shrugs a bit. He's used to being suspicious, but it's a disadvantage if no one trusts you in this world.]

Even just reading, people will get angry because their mind is supposed to be private.

[She nods slightly.]

... So if you're good at being stealthy it's a good power to have. [And she sighs.] That isn't me, then.

[key_illusion]

Heh, yeah. Definitely not the right kind of power for you. [He smiles a bit at that, almost playfully.] But you know, I think you having energy transfer is really useful.

[Because he's not kissing Lea anytime soon.]

[Oh man, she is laughing.]

Come on, it's come in handy once or twice but I wouldn't call it useful!

Then maybe you haven't found the best way to use it. [Okay, let's think strategy now.]

For one, you could drain enough energy from an enemy if they get too close so that they'll slow down and be easier to attack. Second, you could take energy from the people who can't help the battle as much, say like little kids and older people, and then give it to others who can fight so they can continue for longer.

[Yes okay she is most definitely lacking in a strategic kind of mind here, because she's just blinking at him.]

... Those are really good suggestions, Roxas. Really good.

... [Oh Euri.] Keep them in mind then.

[But speaking of energy transfer and strategy, ???'s starting to think up something completely different as he starts carefully moving away from her.] Where are you headed to?

I will, thank you!

[And she'll follow, since she doesn't have any important business to attend to.]

I was just collecting the hearts. Draco thinks we should experiment with them in potions. What about you?

Going home so I can put myself to sleep. [Yeaaaah. But still, what--]

What kind of potions are you going to try to make?

- Roxas! That's so extreme!

[key_illusion]

No, it's not. Trust me.

[occulthymns]

Why do you need the potion for that? [She's reaching to touch his arm lightly.]

[key_illusion]

To keep me out so I can pass the time. That's why I got a potion from Draco. Just in case.

[occulthymns]

Do you hate being human...? [Her voice is getting a little quiet as she watches him curiously.]

[key_illusion]

No, I like it. It's just...too nice at times, and it's frustrating that it's not my decision to stay human.

[occulthymns]

Oh....

[She frowns faintly.]

But even if it's tough afterwards, isn't it worth enjoying it while you can?

[He's quiet for a moment because he's not really sure how to answer. Considering how much pain it brought him last time, he almost wants to say no. That's why he's going to put himself to sleep, so he doesn't have the chance.

But how to show that without 1) Euri freaking out and 2) not giving too much of an answer about his mental state?]

[Actually, he can show a little bit of a difference between him now and how he is normally--

So he turns toward her after a long pause and grabs her wrist as he leans in quickly to press his lips against hers. It's much different from their recent kiss, and that's part of the message that he wants to give.]

[That... was not the kind of answer she was expecting. She blinks and freezes out of surprise.

But that only lasts a moment, because once she gets over the initial shock she's leaning in.]

[key_illusion]

[While he could explain through Telepathy, he's taking a the moment to do some comparisons. It's sinking in pretty quickly that this is just a kiss and completely without energy transfer in play. It's definitely different, and he's not sure what to take away from it either until he starts to think about the feeling of it. Soft, warm, a little bit comforting, and he knows it's much more than he'll ever feel in his original form where everything is dampened down in comparison.

But it's over soon, and ??? pulls away looking a bit conflicted.]

...I want to sleep because I don't want to remember all the things I'm missing out on and what I can't have.

[Euri, meanwhile, is wondering whether this was caused by the hearts. It certainly could be - it would make a lot of sense, since ??? isn't the type to be this forward. Or affectionate. He might not like her kissing him back though, but she likes it and she figures if he doesn't he won't be too upset afterwards.

... She's definitely overthinking this, and when he breaks it she's suddenly focusing on how tingly her lips feel.]

....

[But even that doesn't last long because wow that explanation. Euri's taking it entirely the wrong way, her whole face flushing a dark red.]

Y - you - what?

[key_illusion]

[He lets out a small sigh and finally lets go of her wrist. The blush, he's guessing, is probably from him seemingly kissing her at random. It's the best explanation he has.]

When I'm human, there aren't bad memories circulating through me all the time, it's easier to forget my problems. Everything feels so much more...intense too. It's almost completely different from what I'm used too, even if I do have Roxas' memories. And knowing that there's a way to feel better makes everything feel worse when I'm not human. [Well, he ended up giving his answer anyways, but at least she has a better understanding of why he kissed her.]

[Hopes dashed.

But at least he doesn't seem to notice to she mistook what he meant, so she isn't quite as embarrassed as she could have been.]

Ah.... [And what he's saying makes sense, even if it's incredibly sad.]

There really isn't another way to deal with it?
