[In the middle of the night (or rather the early, early morning), there's a sound somewhat like falling hail. It only lasts a couple of seconds, and is followed by the howl of a single big gust of wind that seems to get through the cracks of windows and doors no matter how well closed or locked they were.

It seems the rain was a shower of candy hearts, and they'll be cropping up all over the place all day!

What could this possibly mean?]

[He spits up another chunk of blood again, probing at this teeth with his tongue to make sure none of them are in danger of falling out of his mouth.]

[ She's still flushed in embarrassment and concern as he hocks another gob of blood. ]

[He prods around in his mouth with his tongue a bit, making sure that all the blood is from where he bit his tongue and his lips and not because there are loose teeth in there.]

[ She rubs her knuckles idly. Well, at least he hadn't punched her - she wasn't sure how well she'd take getting socked in the face. ]

Yeah, well, I don't plan on letting you die around me again.

[ It's an idle comment more than anything else. She still felt a little guilty about the whole battle debacle. ]

Go put some ice or something on it, at least?

[Sollux shifts, tries to push himself to his feet- and when his heel slides back and the weight settles on the candy, and it cracks underneath him.]

[ Jade has to set her jaw and remind herself- that's the candy, it's the candy, it makes people say mean things, not necessarily true ones. ]

[It is kind of true, though, in a way, or he wouldn't have said it. In his head, anyway. Everybody has those unkind things they think about their friends that they would never actually say.]
