Day 461 ( June 9/10 )

When the Travellers wake up, they will find a message sent to every bracelet in the city:

As per the agreement between the gods and their Travellers, all persons within Asgard are humbly requested at the castle courtyard for enlistment in the Holy City's war efforts. Every individual is invited to find their resolve and seek out their purpose; this is the final stand in Ragnarok, and your help is needed now more than ever.

Enlistment is mandatory! Please see your local officials for more information.

A friendly if not a touch formal invitation to what will essentially be Asgard's job fair! A mandatory job fair. This is why we can't have nice things.

The castle courtyard and the streets leading into it will be crowded with bustling natives and several booths, not uncommon in appearance to the many festivals they've had over the last two years. This time, however, there is no music or celebration to be had. Everyone is hard at work organising their efforts for the war and doing their level best to assist in the transition.

Day 462 ( June 11/12 )

The fair will continue for two days, to give everyone time to get down there and make their decisions. Anyone that hasn't signed up by the end of this day will be visited at home by a city rep and a few guards that will politely ask them to register for a group and weaponry if they plan to carry it. Refusal will land them in jail for the day, where they will still be politely asked to please, seriously, just pick something. Anything. Uncle Odin wants you.

At the end of the fair, there will be food and drinks to thank the Travellers for their support and cooperation. Throughout the entirety of the event and for the rest of their stay, the natives will be more reverent and grateful than ever than the Travellers have chosen to stay and fight at their side. They will do anything they can to help them win this war; this evening will be one of camaraderie and appreciation for the past, present, and future sacrifices to save the World Tree.

[ The person addressing her is just met with more scowling. She would just ignore them if they didn't seem to know her name. ]

[Samantha muttered that one under her breath and reached up to pinch the bridge of her nose. Well, this was predictable wasn't it. A little late to go back on knowing her name, so best to plod forward.]

Sorry, I should be used to people not remembering by now. My name's Samantha. How long have you been here?

A few weeks. What do you want? I am kind of busy right now.

[ And just not in the mood for this kind of thing. She doesn't care what past Feferis did, she's not one of them. ]

[Well, if it was any consolation, Samantha was currently doing her best to shelve all the stuff about past Feferis right now. She was at least trying to learn that lesson.]

Fair enough, though you could have fooled me. You sort of look like you're sulking in the shade. It's not really like there's much to do, other than sign up.

I just wanted to say it was... good to see you. [Boy, that 'good' came with some odd weight to it.] Does Eridan know you're here yet?

Yes, Eridan knows I'm here.

[ She doesn't really know what else to say to that, so she doesn't. Nor does she feel like arguing her current activities. She doesn't realy know who she can trust, outside of a select few. ]

[Samantha's eyes lit up. Visibly lit up. She reached her hands up and put her fists together, popping her knuckles while she rotated her shoulders.]

I should really thank you. That's just the excuse I needed to pound the pulp out of fin-rot. He should have told me when you were back in town, after all. Would have saved us the awkward moment here.

Oh, he's going to regret that. [She giggled a little before dropping that nice bit of good mood a little and looking at her soberly.] But... in the meantime, would you be ok just starting at square one? I think I'd rather just treat you as someone else that reminds me of a person I knew.

It's... easier, if that makes sense.

You won't touch Eridan, it's none of your business if I'm here or not. You can think of me however you want, I cannot stop you, but you have no right to be mad at him.

[samantha_grey]

He's my Kismesis [She said it firmly with a slightly narrowed look to her eyes.] And we had an agreement that if you ever came back he'd let me know. It's most certainly my business to pound the crap out of him. It's up to tall dark and gruesome to make sure I don't pull it off.

Maybe I didn't want someone like you to know I was here, and it is certainly none of his business to make an agreement like that. I'll deal with it, and you'll leave it alone.

[Her eyebrows climbed for a moment. Someone like her? Her lips quivered on the edge of a scowl. Well, this was different from her previous interactions. She looked a little older than before. Had they made up in his world after everyone died?

Who knew? She wasn't focusing on that just now.]

Fine. I'll drop that. It's not like I have any trouble finding reasons to get into it with him, but don't think you're getting in the way of our relationship. He's mine to hate.

I don't care about Eridan's quadrants, I just don't want anyone butting in on my business right now. There is too much going on to be dealing with that.

[samantha_grey]

[She stopped bristling quite so much and nodded.] Fine. I'll find some other reason. I'm in a mood to now, either way. You'll have to excuse me. I've had a little more flack over us over the last god knows how long than I care to remember.

[She gave a harumph.] What did you mean by 'someone like me?'

[fintastic]

Someone who sticks their fins where they don't belong!

[ As if she's one to talk. She's just ornery right now. ]

[samantha_grey]

[She blinked, looked at Feferi and then laughed lightly. She looked a lot less pissed off and nodded, raising her hands in a defensive gesture while she smiled over at the troll.]

Fair enough. I am a little too nosy for my own good sometimes. Listen... if you ever want to grab a bite to eat, you can just give me a call. I don't want to push too much.

Maybe.

[ Feferi doesn't really want to say no flat out and risk carrying this out more than it needs to be, but she's not really in the mood for talking about food. ]

[samantha_grey]

[She looked at her for a second and then simply nodded before giving a wave and turning to start walking away. She had as much empathy as a rock, but she could catch the hint eventually that Fef wasn't in a talkative mood.]
