Day 461 ( June 9/10 )

When the Travellers wake up, they will find a message sent to every bracelet in the city:

As per the agreement between the gods and their Travellers, all persons within Asgard are humbly requested at the castle courtyard for enlistment in the Holy City's war efforts. Every individual is invited to find their resolve and seek out their purpose; this is the final stand in Ragnarok, and your help is needed now more than ever.

Enlistment is mandatory! Please see your local officials for more information.

A friendly if not a touch formal invitation to what will essentially be Asgard's job fair! A mandatory job fair. This is why we can't have nice things.

The castle courtyard and the streets leading into it will be crowded with bustling natives and several booths, not uncommon in appearance to the many festivals they've had over the last two years. This time, however, there is no music or celebration to be had. Everyone is hard at work organising their efforts for the war and doing their level best to assist in the transition.

Day 462 ( June 11/12 )

The fair will continue for two days, to give everyone time to get down there and make their decisions. Anyone that hasn't signed up by the end of this day will be visited at home by a city rep and a few guards that will politely ask them to register for a group and weaponry if they plan to carry it. Refusal will land them in jail for the day, where they will still be politely asked to please, seriously, just pick something. Anything. Uncle Odin wants you.

At the end of the fair, there will be food and drinks to thank the Travellers for their support and cooperation. Throughout the entirety of the event and for the rest of their stay, the natives will be more reverent and grateful than ever than the Travellers have chosen to stay and fight at their side. They will do anything they can to help them win this war; this evening will be one of camaraderie and appreciation for the past, present, and future sacrifices to save the World Tree.

DAY 461 | Supplies Coordinators | OPEN

[He'd gone down early, not having anything on his schedule for the day that couldn't be replaced by following the newest mandate from their overlords. With Hale on his shoulder, Stiles left his place in Sigyn and headed to the castle's courtyard, figuring he should decide what he fit into best before he was shoved somewhere he didn't want to be.

He bypassed the Patrol and Military booths, knowing that fire power or not, he just didn't have it in him to be on the front lines of anything. He paused at the Emergency Response booth, looking around and listening to the others signing up for it. He looked around the Military booth, wondering if McCoy would be showing up later for this one.

It probably wouldn't surprised anyone that the only booth he found himself really being drawn towards was the Supplies Coordinators, going over and listening to what it was he'd have to do in terms of helping out the rest of the groups. He wound up scribbling his name down for it, thinking about leaving a message for Rachel to see if she'd want to offer her Draw Life powers for the group. Curse weirdness or not, he knew he'd want to keep an eye on her and have her be close. Maybe he could convince Scott to do it as well, then he could keep an eye on at least two of the people he cared about here, but he had a feeling that Scott would wind up in one of the groups that Isaac or Allison chose, and he couldn't blame him.

Signed up for his own, he decided to stay around for a bit, to see if he could see anyone he knew to find out where they were winding up.]

[Someone else had found his way to the supplies coordinator's booth. He could have helped at the medics if he'd really wanted to, or any of them, apart from military, but he knew just how well he'd do at supplies. He'd been dealing with black markets, and with rationing out food for what felt like years now (and it was almost two years, if he counted it up, and so this just... felt right. He'd no doubt help out with welcomes as well, but he'd rather be where he felt he could do most good.

Most people never thought about how all that worked. He just did it.

Seeing the young man standing by there, he walked over to him, smiling at him.] So, you've found your calling as well?

Day 461 | City Patrol | Open

[The Medics would have been an easy choice. She'd gone into battle with a medic kit before, had applied her power to the effort, was even on good terms with some of the familiar faces flocking to its booth. It would make logical sense for her to join them.

So why did the City Patrol seem so much more appealing?

Jane had listened to every bit of information she could soak up from the City Patrol booth. Yes - this seemed right for her. Hitting the pavement, keeping an eye out to the horizon for the suspicious, watching out for the city of Asgard...so maybe it tugged on that old desire to investigate and allow curiosity to be her guide. What of it? There was not a doubt in her mind that she wouldn't be able to commit to this.

Jane's signed her name to the Patrol, but she lingers by the booth anyway, wondering who else would find their way to it...]

Speaking of suspicious people...

[While she was looking over the Patrol booth, someone was watching it with a little too much intensity. Samantha had been cutting pretty much all of her illicit ties and smuggling in the last several weeks of time. Ever since Utgard had dried up, there'd been nobody to sell safely to. So, she had few risks with the City Patrols.

But, even if she was finally getting her business interests on the straight and narrow and feeling the ease on her conscience, old habits died hard. Working with cops, she could never quite shake her distrust of them from the old days. So, there she was, watching and there Jane was, signing. She chuckled softly when next the woman was in hearing range.]

461 - Open Threads

[Samantha wasn't hard to find. As soon as she learned about the volunteering, she made her way to the various booths that were set up. Signing up for the Medic Corps was almost academic anymore, considering her past work with Merlin's organization.

Afterwards, she could be seen around the Medic Corps booths and all over the place really. It was a rare opportunity for everyone to gather, and there were people she wanted to catch up on that time, the last bit of madness and her own personal habits frequently interfered with. So, people could pin her down without troubles, the smell of clove cigarettes hinting at her approach whenever she was near.]

461 - Open specifically for anyone with the Spy Faction

[Samantha was actively looking around for the few more or less stealthy, roguish types she knew. Desmond was chief among them, but there were other like-minded people. She'd tamped out her last smoke for the afternoon and lingered near the Patrols booths, frowning and running her finger under her chin. Part of her liked the idea of doing just that...

But, as she lingered a little away from the crowds, watching the sun set, it was hard to feel that her skills were fully used doing that. Hopefully someone had something more in mind. Patrols were just too... reactive. If she could catch the eye of someone, a simple conversation could net helpful results possibly. Pity Temari wasn't still around.]

462 - Wide Open

[In the evening, as things were winding down, she could be seen at the festivities. A cloud of smoke lingered near her, a drink in one hand and a plate on the small wall next to her where she sat. She was away from the crowds, not wanting to be too close to the revelry.

Crowds were easy to deal with when there was work. When there were people socializing, she felt a little more out of place. Sighing and hoping no more natives would be around, just for the rest, she breathed in from a cigarette and closed her eye.]

[ It was a very easy choice for John. A doctor is all he's ever been, even while in the army, and as soon as he gets to the courtyard he makes a beeline for the medic group sign up.

He writes up his name, and turns towards Samantha. ]

Day 461
[Yuiko had been really nervous about trying to figure out what she was going to do. And now that it was time for the job fair she still hadn't completely made her mind how she would be able to help.

She was starting to get the hang of her energy transfer abilities, so there was the possibility of helping out with the medical group. But then the thought of possibly seeing really bad injuries and things probably meant she wouldn't be much help and would probably just be in the way. The military and patrol were definitely out of the question.

Wandering around the booths she might have seemed just a little unsure or confused. Her ears were folded back a little as she continuously went from one to others and thought about where to go. At one point it probably looked like her head was about to explode.]

By the middle of the second day Yuiko finally settled on the Welcoming Committee, figuring that it would be the safest for her do and it also would be the best way that she would be able to help. So for the rest of the day she'll by the table to see who else signs up and talk with them.

[Oh, that's a familiar pair of ears. Yuusuke quietly slips up behind her, reaching out to give her a quick pat on the head - hopefully without her noticing his approach.]

Day 461:

[Elsa will be there, responding to the request by coming to the courtyard to see what options there are. She'll consider for a while before eventually signing up to the Welcoming Committee. It's perhaps partly impulse, to choose something quickly. She's still not entirely comfortable with such massive crowds even if she is more used to it than previously when she initially arrived.]

Day 462:

[At the fair, Elsa is merely observing, having already signed up the day before, but wanting to assist if possible. She stands to the side, out of the way and occasionally nibbling or sipping at some of the food and drink offered.]

[He was moving through the crowds of people, a confused expression on his face. He understood the people here were fighting a war, but hadn't expected to be drafted into it.

He had been here the day before, as his bracelet had told him to be, and had signed up to help the medics. This was more to do with the power he'd been given upon arrival, more than anything else.

He stepped out the mass of people to scope out his surroundings, and saw a young woman standing alone. He stuck his hand out towards her to be shaken.]

[Aladdin wandering about to learn about as many groups as possible. He honestly sure where he would fit in the best. Hell only figure that out late into the day he'll find where he wants to go. In the meantime he is open for a bit of company.]

Day 462
[Wearing a pair of odd rounded glasses and covered in glitter ink, Aladdin quietly paints runic spells onto a old wooden chest. He sometimes looks over at some notes checking for something before going back to painting inside the vassal then drawing a similar set of runes on a piece of wax paper. Once that's done, he writes down a list of things onto a notebook to the side before repeating the process. He wanted to perfect his welcome chest setup before starting on his work for the engineer groups.

He’s so into this work he might not notice anyone coming up to him to ask questions or taking a look at his work.]

[It was said with laughter as the scent of sulfur reached his nostrils. This was a moment, very much, of the pot calling the kettle black. Samantha grinned at him, winking if he looked back at her.]

[ Well it's obvious what he's choosing. Whale's ego is too big to allow him to choose anything that's not the Medic Corps.

As he signs on the metaphorical dotted line, he can't help but be struck by the irony. Back home, he scoffed at a position as an army doctor, preferring to focus on his reanimation work instead. Here, he was blatantly choosing the life of an army doctor. How ridiculous.

For the rest of the day, Whale can be found hanging around the Medic Corps booth, scouting out potential allies (and occasionally making comments or worried noises under his breath when someone signed up) as well as just being a bit of a bum, leaning next to the table and reading a book. ]

[Of course, Clementine is around. And where the Doctor, her Doctor, goes, she's usually somewhere near. And in this case, she is also signing on to the medics. She might not have her healing power from Sigyn anymore, but she knows some basic first aid. And of course Lee and Eight wouldn't let her near the military sign ups, so she had to compromise on that front.]

Day 461 - OPEN

[ Although Feferi goes, because she gets the feeling she doesn't have a choice in this matter, either, she does not look pleased. She breezes by the booths, with barely a cursory glance at each, then takes to a more secluded alcove to both sulk and figure out her plans. Almost everyone seems so brainwashed, so she doubts starting an insurrection is ever going to happen.

Eventually she settles on the Welcome Committee. Her characteristic smile is replaced by a scowl, and her fins are kept pinned hard against her neck, unhappy to think that there will be any need for such a thing. But if she can't stop this, she can certainly warn people what they're getting into, instead of whatever propaganda they're going to try to feed new arrivals. ]

[The voice was likely completely unfamiliar, unless the troll paid attention to Samantha's occasional posts on the network about potions. However, whoever was speaking certainly sounded like they were familiar with her as they came directly towards the young tyrian. Tail swishing behind her, Samantha's horns were clearly visible and she was brushing the last of the morning's rain off of her jacket.

The girl was dressed in an odd outfit. It looked like it was designed for freedom of movement, but clearly had he look of a uniform of some sort regardless. Her hair, tied back in a severe ponytail, swished a little as she walked.]

W...When did you get here?

[Of course, Clementine wants to do more. To help. The question is whether she'd be allowed to join with the military like she initially wants, now she finally has a more offensive power. But the look Eight and Lee give when she gravitates to that sign up area pretty much decides that as a no, as she expected.

Thus she settles on the medics. Without her healing power she might not be able to help as much, but she still knows some basics in first aid at least. This way she'd presumably be mostly out of the way of the fighting so nobody would be worrying, or so she figures. She helps at the clinic enough and has done so long enough, seen enough back home that she doubts the injuries will deter her. Especially after Carver.

The next day, she is around and waving some familiar faces over to the medics booth to talk to them, but mostly wandering the crowds enjoying the food and drink while trying to not let the crowds make her too antsy. It reminds her too much of back home, going through the hordes of walkers.]

[Ellie can spot the antsy feelings a mile away. She's feeling a little restless in the crowds too, so she comes up to Clementine's side, gives her opposite arm a poke. It's a childish little thing, but maybe it'll make Clem look the wrong way. Either way, she'll find Ellie grinning.]

Day 461

Honestly, Riley wasn't thrilled about this job fair. She didn't want to have to just go and pick something, especially given her feelings on military. Okay so not all military was like that but she just didn't feel like she actually belonged there. It sucked that she was likely going to end up there but she hadn't settled yet. Maybe there was something else she could be doing.

Well, she'd wander around a bit more to see.

Day 462

The day before had been a weird one but Riley was all about food and drink. Especially when it was free. Wandering about, she grabbed different things to try, finishing them off even if she hated them. And some of the things were kind of gross to her too. Oh well, free food.

She was just grabbing another drink of...something, when she stopped to have a look around. Funny how people acted so differently to free food and drinks here. They didn't fly into a rage to get at it, they didn't fight to have more than another person. Everyone here just...existed. Riley could appreciate that and for a couple of minutes she just stopped to enjoy, a smile on her lips.

[Clementine figures the sooner she checks this out, the sooner she has it sorted and doesn't need to worry about this on top of helping at the clinic and school. She's near the medic area when she spies Riley and approaches the other girl with a smile.]

Day 461 sees Kanji drifting from booth to booth, trying to make his mind up. Where does he belong? What can he do best? Supplies and Engineering seem logical - he wanders over to both a few times but frowns. He doesn't just want to be a photocopier, as he'd so often heard.

By the end of the day, with a slightly grim look on his face, it seems he's made his decision. After all, he knows he's good at it (though he'll easily admit he needs to learn more ...formal techniques), he can get supplies out on the front lines quickly if lines get cut off, and - perhaps, if he fights, that's one less other person who has to.

He slowly signs up at the Military stand and steps back with a sigh. How's he going to manage this?

He's around a bit on Day 462, too. Just seeing if anyone he knows is still around, really, and at the very least checking out the free eats. He still can't quite believe what he's done, and there's a couple of moments where it looks like he's going to go running back to the stand and beg to change.

It's very obviously clear from one sign, though, that he's taking it as seriously as it needs to be taken. A symbolic gesture, perhaps.

On the second day, Yosuke finds himself still meandering from stall to stall as the bigger crowds start to disperse. If he's honest, he has even less idea of what he's hoping for than he did yesterday. He has to do something, he's not the only one way out of his depth, picking any direction is better than no direction - he knows all that, he knows that much by now. There's no reason to make this complicated, when it's not as if the world is going to end... Well, okay, it is. Minor detail, though.

That's what he gets for thinking too hard, he supposes. And so is the distracted air that leads him, as he turns his head to frown at one of the booths he must have passed four or five times by now, to tread heavily on someone's foot.

"Oh, sorry -" Barely looking up, he hurries aside - but then he stops, and then he goggles.

"Kanji! Is that...?" Duh, of course it is, now that he gets a second look. Still, nobody could blame him for being a little shocked, right? It's not really a question of priorities, right? ...Right? "Dude, what happened to you?"

[It doesn't take much thought at all, really. After reading the message, she sets off to find the healers. She has no doubt that they will be present; battle after battle has proven time and time again how valuable they are. It just wouldn't make sense for there to be no group.

Once she's signed up, she begins walking around the rest of the fair, keeping an eye out for people she knows. Her own choice had been simple, but what were the others joining...?]

[It's this day that she can be spotted hovering around the Supply Coordinators' booth. She'd made her decision the day before, but seeing this group has struck her with an idea. Although, would it really be of that much use...?

She could certainly use an extra push, should your character be willing to provide it.]

[Samantha was just hanging out under the awning of the booth as the last of the morning's rain started to patter away into nothingness. She grinned impishly at Hibiki. The two hadn't spoken much at all, but she had seen her often enough at Merlin's planning sessions. She'd known the girl would come this way.]

I bet anyone in Merlin's teams will probably be by soon enough.

Day 461 | City Patrol| OPEN!

[He makes his final decision with surprising ease. Although he hadn't really thought there would be any group that interested him, he was proven splendidly wrong when he came upon the City Patrol.

Observing the people of the city for suspicious behavior? It was practically his job from home. Although he had been making his way through each individual stall up until this point, it's here that he finally stops and signs his name down without even a second thought of checking out the others. He doubts any of them could offer him anything better than this.

Still, he'll hang around the area for a while, if only to figure out who his fellow groupmates may be. If he sees anyone he knows, they'll be greeted with a wave.]

After reading the message, Hamel considers not showing up just to be contrary - final battle or not, no one orders him around! Eventually though, he gets off his ass and goes to take a look. He doesn’t want to find out all the good spots are already taken, after all.

He decides on the military fairly quickly - he’s by no means soldier, but how can he call himself a Great Hero if he won’t fight on the front lines? After signing up, he hangs around the stand for a while to see who else might join.

Anyone who knows Hamel even a little, would probably find it odd seeing him there. He is, after all, the worst when it comes to group dynamics and following orders.

After doing his duty and signing up, this day is all about free food. He wanders around, always with half-finished food and drink in his hands, looking to see what everyone else if doing, where did they sign up.

He very clearly enjoys the natives' gratitude, but at least he’s graceful about it - it’s his gallant hero face he puts on today. Being appreciated is so nice!

Maglor does not expect to see Hamel there, sure enough. He remembers how he hated being told what to do. And yet... it is not entirely surprising either. Hamel may boast and preen, but Maglor can still recall that he owes his life to him as well.

"You are certain then, my friend? You do not seem the type to take orders."

If Maglor came up quietly and spoke without warning... well, perhaps he is feeling like teasing a little today.

Day 461
Maglor already knows what his choice will be (what other can it?) - a Kinslayer is good for one thing, after all - and whatever else he may be, he is very good at killing. He tarries in the morning - makes breakfast for the household and goes to the Citadel as he normally does, and walks in the park singing softly of loss and bright swords. He does not enjoy war. But some things you do not have to enjoy to be good at (he already knows how swiftly he can loose himself to the blade. It will be a hard thing, but he has reasons to return). Later in the day he will slip up to the stand and sign his name (and it is his full name he signs, the mark of his house 'Makalaure Canafinwe Feanorion' - and hopes he does not carry his doom with him). In the Tavern that evening his songs are all of war.

He comes by in later in the day again, merely to see how things are progressing. The food and drink are welcome surprises which he accepts quietly. As the sun sets you might see him, watching quietly how things go, or singing softly of a newly rising sun on blue banners and bright spears.

[ He's passed Maglor by a few times and he seems to be singing almost every time. It's rather nice. The Doctor doesn't consider himself all that musical - not as much as one of his past selves - but he can still appreciate it. ]

[When Minato arrives at the courtyard, he's a little disappointed that the enlistment resembled more like a job fair, as opposed to a more militaristic atmosphere like he expected.

He hasn't decided yet on which job he wants. Maybe a talk with someone would help.]


Day 462

[In the end, he decided to go with City Patrol. Even if it didn't sound as cool as the Military, keeping the city safe had to be a priority. There's no point winning a war if the country is destroyed. He's handed a glass of wine by one of the natives, who claims it's the best they could procure, and that it's thanks for the Travelers' decision to help fight their war. They're so nice about it that Minato can't help but take it, not drinking it right away though as he's more interested in talking to someone not treating him like some god.]

[Sweaty, burly, muscled gray flesh strode up from behind Minato, arms crossed. He looked out at everyone, surveying them with a nod of approval. No, this wasn't how he would have done it, but it was getting done, and with it he knew that the fight was coming soon.

Glob, he'd been itching for a fight.]

[Someone was in good spirits. Really good spirits. Why, Equius was practically beaming pride when he signed up for the Engineers.

Why? It was because he had the opportunity to create still greater constructions of war for the cause. He didn't actually care one whit whether or not the lot of these creatures lived or died. It was the implausible challenge of working with such terrible equipment and sub-standard materials that had finally drawn him in.

Anyone could find him easily near the sign up sheet, ready to add to the bandwagon. Some of the natives were probably trying to shoo him away, since he had a tendency to make people nervous.]

[Between people trying to sign up and being unsure, Fuuka was definitely one of the people who was rather nervous about signing up right away. However, she also knew that there wasn't much time for her to think about it. It was either this or have something else happen and she didn't want to cross the Gods right now.

Although, once she was up to the sign up sheet? Don't mind her just...staring at him.]

Day 461 - Military

[It wasn't a hard choice for Steve, deciding with group to join. In fact, it wasn't much of a choice at all. He spots the Military booth within moments of entering the castle courtyard and heads straight for it. It's where he'd be the biggest help. It's what he's trained to do.

Once he's signed up, he'll hang around the booth for a little while, see who else is signing up. If he's hoping to spot some familiar faces, no one has to know but him.]

Day 462 - Around

[It's been a chaotic couple of days, with people filing in and out of the courtyard. Steve has stuck around to help out, a little out of a sense of duty, but mostly because he didn't have anything else to occupy his time. He'll point people in the right direction if they can't find the booth they're looking for.

When the event wraps up Steve settles down with some food, finally allowing himself to relax. People talk and socialize around him, but he hangs back until he's finished eating. After he's done he'll start seeking out familiar faces.]

[Kevin doesn't sign up for the military right away. He checks all the other options first. But the military seems like the only one that he might be any good at. So he makes his way back there and signs his name.]

I guess giants will be harder to kill than people, though.

( he doesn’t really appreciate the tone of the message, but mccoy shows up at the fair early all the same. picking a group is a bit of a no-brainer, for him, so he ends up floating by the medics’ table several times that day—long after he’s signed up, and more to get a look at the others signing up than anything else.

it isn’t that he’s worried, exactly—or at least, no more than usual. but there’s something distinctly anxious about his presence, the way he balances one hand against his chin and chews on the inside of his cheek. despite his months here, “war” still seems like a foreign and archaic concept to him. he’s allowed to be worried, isn’t he?

that being said, he can be found at other booths, too—mostly checking on people, but also offering loud and antagonistic opinions wherever they’re needed, and several places they aren’t. )

( but you can bet your ass that he’ll be partaking of that free drink, because he’s got to get something out of this entire mess. so he’s claimed a seat in the corner somewhere, nursing a glass while he looks out at the rest of the world.

[Garth had made his rounds, signed up, and talked to a few people. He still felt like an outsider, only having been here a few days, but he had no reservations when it came to introducing himself to strangers. Which was lucky for him in this situation.

He was picking at some sweets one of the natives had given him and looking around for a victim to converse with. When he'd found one, a man sitting in a corner by himself, he sat down nearby.]

Day 462 - Supplies coordinators - completely open

[He couldn't fight, he couldn't fix people physically, he couldn't fix things that had broken down, but one thing Father Mulcahy could do was be there for others. Sometimes people just needed to see a priest, doing his job, he knew.

[Ryan's kept a bit of an eye on who else is signing up for his chosen group; best to know who he'll be working with, after all, since they're doubtless going to be in touch after this.

So he's waited til Father Mulcahy doesn't seem too busy to wander over, hands tucked into his pockets as he offers the man a small grin. Ryan's a hard guy to miss in a crowd, what with being nearly six and a half feet, but with a slightly slouched posture that takes some of the impact from that height.]

Another one for the practical side, yeah? Looks like we're going to be working together there.

( alison is nothing if not organized as she attends the job fair. she has a clipboard, procured from gods-know-where, and travels to each booth in turn to take meticulous notes about what they claim to be doing. she doesn’t really know what she can offer any of these groups—she isn’t a soldier or a doctor, has not training that would make her useful. it’s an odd feeling, but she masks it as she marches from stall to stall with purpose. she’s going to find something she can do. she is entirely determined. )

Shouldn’t you have an age minimum for this? ( she asks at the military’s set-up. ) Or at least a waiver?

( and then, by the medics: ) Please tell me there are actual medical doctors on hand, and not just the ones with magic.

( she takes one look at engineering and shakes her head. ) Oh, no. That’s unacceptable.

( on and on it goes, with her papers filling up with frantic notes and criticisms and her mind no more made up than it was at the start.

you can find her at any of the booths, or towards the end of the day when she finally wanders over to the emergency response there and lingers there for long moments, a searching look on her face. )

( at the end of the say she decides she’s earned something of a break. the wine here isn’t precisely what she’s used to, but it’s good and it does the work it needs to. she’s on her second or third glass by the time she starts smiling at the people who pass her, looking perhaps more approachable than she has all day. )

[Rose quickly settled on Emergency Response when she first arrived at the fair, but later in the day she's wandered back over with her own glass of wine to see if any familiar names have joined in on this group. When she spots Alison, however, the familiarity is a bit mistaken.]

Sarah, wasn't it? [She gives a little smile and wave as she steps towards the booth to greet her.] You look a bit happier than the last time we talked.

[Finally, something she could feel useful at. So many choices for her, and in the end, she chose to sign up for the engineers. Building, fixing, making things work? It was entirely up her alley. She knew that magic would no doubt be working against them, but at least this way she could get the biggest clue of how to counter that. Fighting - well, that's what she had staff for, and she knew she wasn't the world's greatest welcomer. This made sense.

For a while, she stayed close to the stand, just to see who else would turn up that she knew and to find out who she'd be working with, but after that she wandered amongst the various stalls of the fair, just taking it in. The atmosphere had changed, and she was glad now to be part of it all.]

[There's only really the one choice for Four. Admittedly, it's mostly because he doesn't like any of the other options presented, but in time he makes his way over to the engineers. And if the fact that there's probably going to be more than one place with his name on the sign ups is going to be a problem, he figures that other people can deal with that, as long as he knows which one he's signed up for.

He's a little surprised to find Kate hanging out near the booth, but he offers a nod all the same. If they'll be working together he can't say he'd mind.

[Now this was more like it! For after all of the moaning she had seen on the network, and all of the unfit for service that populated the halls and ways of the city, it brought joy to Mordred's treacherous heart to see the Gods of this place attempting to be proactive for once.

For awhile, Mordred moved from booth to booth, taking in all the fair had to offered with a rather disgusted look on her face. This was not how one puts together a military effort! She thought to herself along the way. But still, this was her chance to not only prove that she was truly a knight to the people of Asgard, but also to show them what a really warrior could do on the battlefield.

And so, without so much as a second thought, she had signed herself up for military service with a smile as wide as she could manage.]

[A dry observation from a kid Mordred may or may not have noticed slipping up next to her. He's definitely putting effort into sneaking up on people, albeit without looking like he's trying to do so.]

[As if there were any doubt as to what Sheridan would be doing. There was a war on, he was military through and through, and he signed on the proverbial dotted line even before he arrived here.

Military leadership - he could do it. Fighting? He could do it. Hell, if people needed an inspiring speech, he could pull one out as needed. Because this whole thing, fighting an unknown war for what he hoped was good - this was him in a nutshell, and if he couldn't be at home fighting the Shadows, this was the next best thing.

He did spend time walking around other booths, checking out what was required there, what he had to deal with. How could you plan if you didn't have the whole picture?]

[At first, Altaïr isn't pleased by the gods' demand. Yes, they have all committed to doing what they can for the people of this world, but in their own way. He has no interest in either becoming a soldier or letting his skills languish.

But perhaps there is another way.

By the time he makes his second trip to the fair, the Assassins have conferred and made their proposals to the gods, and now he is on the lookout for those who can join them. Not as members of the brotherhood, but as allies, comrades in arms of a different sort. Now and then, he spies one and approaches.]
