EVENT LOG: GOOD GOD, Y'ALL

Who: EVERYONE
What: the Good God, Y'all mingle log.
When: Days 461-462 ( June 9-12 )
Where: the castle courtyard
Rating: PG-13. Anything higher than that should be taken to a private log, please!

Day 461 ( June 9/10 )
When the Travellers wake up, they will find a message sent to every bracelet in the city:
As per the agreement between the gods and their Travellers, all persons within Asgard are humbly requested at the castle courtyard for enlistment in the Holy City's war efforts. Every individual is invited to find their resolve and seek out their purpose; this is the final stand in Ragnarok, and your help is needed now more than ever.

Enlistment is mandatory! Please see your local officials for more information.
A friendly if not a touch formal invitation to what will essentially be Asgard's job fair! A mandatory job fair. This is why we can't have nice things.

The castle courtyard and the streets leading into it will be crowded with bustling natives and several booths, not uncommon in appearance to the many festivals they've had over the last two years. This time, however, there is no music or celebration to be had. Everyone is hard at work organising their efforts for the war and doing their level best to assist in the transition.

Day 462 ( June 11/12 )
The fair will continue for two days, to give everyone time to get down there and make their decisions. Anyone that hasn't signed up by the end of this day will be visited at home by a city rep and a few guards that will politely ask them to register for a group and weaponry if they plan to carry it. Refusal will land them in jail for the day, where they will still be politely asked to please, seriously, just pick something. Anything. Uncle Odin wants you.

At the end of the fair, there will be food and drinks to thank the Travellers for their support and cooperation. Throughout the entirety of the event and for the rest of their stay, the natives will be more reverent and grateful than ever than the Travellers have chosen to stay and fight at their side. They will do anything they can to help them win this war; this evening will be one of camaraderie and appreciation for the past, present, and future sacrifices to save the World Tree.

[ OOC NOTES: This is the mingle log for the Good God, Y'all event. Remember that all characters must be signed up for at least one group by June 12. Information on the currently established groups can be found here; sign-ups are in the comments section on the same post. Please put [OPEN/CLOSED] along with the time/location in the title of your comment. Let us know if you have any questions! ]

hello tiny child

[ Whale can't help but look at Clementine with a frown. She was a kid. What the hell was a kid doing signing up with the medics? ]

If by 'you too' you mean 'you're signing up to be a medic' then yeah, me too. Though, aren't you a bit young for this whole thing?

she is eleven now excuse you gosh.

[personal profile] littlesurvivor 2014-06-12 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
I'm eleven. And I've been helping in the clinic almost since I got here in Asgard, starting when I was nine, before I went home. I don't have healing powers anymore but I know enough basic first aid. And I've seen enough....injured or dead people. Besides, I don't think Lee or the Doctor would let me choose the military even with a more offensive power now, so.

[There's a shrug. She's seen and done so much more than anyone would expect for her age. But she is used to others questioning it, playing the concerned, over protective adult or elder sister type figure in Asgard.]

eleven is still tiny, okay??

[personal profile] galvanist 2014-06-12 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Yeah, there was no way that kid was going in the military. And, Whale had a feeling that even if he tried to push the welcoming committee on her, she'd try and push back, explaining yet again why she should be helping in the clinic. And...now that he was thinking about it, he had seen her around there. But he always assumed she was just visiting. ]

If you say so, [ said with a Look that plainly stated he wasn't so sure about that. ] Just be careful, okay? I have a feeling we're going to be seeing a lot more than just 'basic first aid' in this.

she has been through more than any other eleven year old.

I can learn more if necessary. On the job.

[Learning by doing, and all. She's not worried about seeing serious injuries. She just knows she won't be as much a help as she used to be. But she'll still be able to make herself useful. Helping with smaller injuries, helping gather supplies as necessary.]

hope you're ready for yet another person to project sibling issues on you, clem

I know, but... [ There's an unspoken YOU'RE ELEVEN. Kids her age shouldn't have to be doing things like this. ]

Here, ask me if you need help, okay? I'm a surgeon and I probably know more battlefield medicine than half the people here. [ Since he's assuming that most of the medical squad will be from Sigyn House and Whale still has a little bit of a grudge against magic. ]

all the surrogate family. yes good.

[personal profile] littlesurvivor 2014-06-14 04:49 am (UTC)(link)
[And she hears that unspoken protest. Again. :l Everyone is so determined to see her as a kid and half don't even know the least of what she has been through and done back home. She's used to it though.]

Okay. I will. So, you're an actual doctor? I guess it's a bit late to check on my arm. Ellie gave me some aloe for my cheek though. I think it's helping.

[Yup, there's a rather nasty smacked cheek there. Because Carver is a douche. But hey, actual doctor. He might know something else that can help.]

asgard aka clem has a bajillion parents

[personal profile] galvanist 2014-06-14 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Was that supposed to reassure him BECAUSE SPOILERS, IT ISN'T. ]

Here, show me your arm. What's wrong with it?

basically. parent and older sister types yup.

[personal profile] littlesurvivor 2014-06-15 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
It was a dog. I got bit back home and had to stitch it up myself.

[Because, given the circumstances, the group that found her was wary in fretting it might be a walker bite. So she had to deal with it herself.

She extends her arm to him, pulling up the sleeve of her shirt to show him. He can see the scar, the stitching. Evident she did it herself, he could probably tell the points where she paused and the pain got too much for a moment. It's as treated as it could be given the situation back home at least. She kept it bandaged as best she could and kept the sleeve over it so it has been covered. It just looks nasty, worse than it really is.]

[ As he looks over the wound, Whale can't help but wince. It looks pretty bad. But, he can tell that it's scarring over pretty well and that its main problem at the moment is looking gross. ]

We've got some antibiotic ointment back at the hospital, I'll give some to you to slather on that bite.

[personal profile] littlesurvivor 2014-06-16 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
Okay. That sounds good. I didn't really have a lot I could do or put on it back home since there aren't much supplies to go around.

[It'll still leave a pretty bad scar, but it is healing, being covered and kept as clean as she can manage. Once he is done looking at it, she pulls her sleeve back over it. She's aware others don't generally like to see things like that, part of the reason she keeps it covered.]

[personal profile] galvanist 2014-06-18 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
Well hey, we're here and nothing's fallen to pieces yet, might as well treat you to helping to heal up your scar.

[personal profile] littlesurvivor 2014-06-18 07:31 am (UTC)(link)
Right. Thanks, Doctor Whale. I mean, things are getting.....more serious, but we can always make more supplies. I can help out with basics, and with my shadow control.

[She doesn't really think the scar is too bad, She's more or less resigned that it will probably scar permanently and is aware someone else could have done a better job with the stitching, but she had to make do.]
