Day 461 ( June 9/10 )

When the Travellers wake up, they will find a message sent to every bracelet in the city:

As per the agreement between the gods and their Travellers, all persons within Asgard are humbly requested at the castle courtyard for enlistment in the Holy City's war efforts. Every individual is invited to find their resolve and seek out their purpose; this is the final stand in Ragnarok, and your help is needed now more than ever.

Enlistment is mandatory! Please see your local officials for more information.

A friendly if not a touch formal invitation to what will essentially be Asgard's job fair! A mandatory job fair. This is why we can't have nice things.

The castle courtyard and the streets leading into it will be crowded with bustling natives and several booths, not uncommon in appearance to the many festivals they've had over the last two years. This time, however, there is no music or celebration to be had. Everyone is hard at work organising their efforts for the war and doing their level best to assist in the transition.

Day 462 ( June 11/12 )

The fair will continue for two days, to give everyone time to get down there and make their decisions. Anyone that hasn't signed up by the end of this day will be visited at home by a city rep and a few guards that will politely ask them to register for a group and weaponry if they plan to carry it. Refusal will land them in jail for the day, where they will still be politely asked to please, seriously, just pick something. Anything. Uncle Odin wants you.

At the end of the fair, there will be food and drinks to thank the Travellers for their support and cooperation. Throughout the entirety of the event and for the rest of their stay, the natives will be more reverent and grateful than ever than the Travellers have chosen to stay and fight at their side. They will do anything they can to help them win this war; this evening will be one of camaraderie and appreciation for the past, present, and future sacrifices to save the World Tree.

I did, yes. I could control the ice and snow. I suppose the equivalent here is Odin's House and their ice magic.

[Elsa blinks, waving a hand to reassure him.]

Oh, no. It's all right. Really. I can't expect people to know, this isn't Arendelle after all. And besides, it's not like I'm queen of Asgard, so I don't really know that the title really means anything here. But it's....a pleasure, Leonardo.

Asgard does have a way of equalizing everyone. It is nice, but I find it never hurts to use a title until you are prompted not to, just for politeness's sake.

[Noted though, from now on it's just her name... which he noticed he does not know.]

If you do not want me to go on calling you vostra Maestà I will have to know your name.

I suppose so, yes. It's just complicated, I suppose. Given this place and how the gods are really the ones in charge, I'm not entirely sure how comfortable I feel with the title being used here.

[A light laugh, almost a bit sheepish.]

Perfectly understandable. It is a strange situation we find ourselves in.

[An easy going reasonable guy Leonardo accepts the explanation and offers a pat of her arm to assure there is nothing she needs to feel sheepish over.

But, it is nice to meet you, Elsa! I am sure you will do fine in the welcome committee.

Exactly. None of us really have any more or less influence than any of the other Travelers, as far as I can tell. I only recently back home had my coronation anyway, so I guess it's just....taking some adjusting to.

[You know. With the whole running away thing. Yeah.]

I have been bothering several of the groups with questions, I think I could be useful in a few different places, but...

[He smiled, coming to a decision that would surprise few that knew him. ]

I think the engineers. I do like to build things and I have several ideas that might be helpful.

Building things? I'm sure we could use the help. There are many ways we all can help. Not necessarily by fighting. So even the children....though I don't like the idea of them being involved in all of this, have their ways to contribute to the war effort too.

[As much as she would rather not have children anywhere near Asgard when there is a war, fighting. But there's a small smile and nod at his idea. It's worth a try, at least.]

I too wish the children could just go back to playing.

[But, there was not much that could be done about that.]

But si, building things! We might be able to strengthen Asgard's defenses or even just repair any buildings that end up damaged. Keep us in mind if you ever need anything?

Let the children be children. Or, for as long as it can be managed, at least, I'd like to imagine.

[There is a nod of agreement at that as she looks around absently at the crowds among the booths.]

Yes, that is true. That could definitely be useful. We will need those skills. Especially if the fighting comes to Asgard itself and we need to make repairs. Surely there would be something of the sort with one of these booths.

Maybe if we have a chance a playground could be installed too, just to make things more normal again?

[Wishful thinking perhaps but he smiles hopefully before aiming a 'hitchhiker's' gesture over his shoulder. ]

I better go and find out which is the best group for these. I do want to sign up before it is too late.
