Day 461 ( June 9/10 )

When the Travellers wake up, they will find a message sent to every bracelet in the city:

As per the agreement between the gods and their Travellers, all persons within Asgard are humbly requested at the castle courtyard for enlistment in the Holy City's war efforts. Every individual is invited to find their resolve and seek out their purpose; this is the final stand in Ragnarok, and your help is needed now more than ever.

Enlistment is mandatory! Please see your local officials for more information.

A friendly if not a touch formal invitation to what will essentially be Asgard's job fair! A mandatory job fair. This is why we can't have nice things.

The castle courtyard and the streets leading into it will be crowded with bustling natives and several booths, not uncommon in appearance to the many festivals they've had over the last two years. This time, however, there is no music or celebration to be had. Everyone is hard at work organising their efforts for the war and doing their level best to assist in the transition.

Day 462 ( June 11/12 )

The fair will continue for two days, to give everyone time to get down there and make their decisions. Anyone that hasn't signed up by the end of this day will be visited at home by a city rep and a few guards that will politely ask them to register for a group and weaponry if they plan to carry it. Refusal will land them in jail for the day, where they will still be politely asked to please, seriously, just pick something. Anything. Uncle Odin wants you.

At the end of the fair, there will be food and drinks to thank the Travellers for their support and cooperation. Throughout the entirety of the event and for the rest of their stay, the natives will be more reverent and grateful than ever than the Travellers have chosen to stay and fight at their side. They will do anything they can to help them win this war; this evening will be one of camaraderie and appreciation for the past, present, and future sacrifices to save the World Tree.

[She takes in a breath before letting it out as a soft sigh, her shoulders lifting slightly from the action. She doesn't really believe that everything will be okay, but...

Isn't it important to try, at least? Even the director once said that Misaki-san treasured hard work over results.

[It's still quiet, but there's resolve in her voice now, too.]

[Back home, while Fuuka was a hard worker, she never gave much thought about trying to do what she wanted. She always found herself rather lucky that she found SEES and finally found her own place in the world.

Of course, now that she had that determination, the biggest problem now was where to go from there. Either way, she gave her hand out to the small girl.]

My name is Fuuka Yamagishi, what is your name?

Oh-! I'm so sorry, I never even told you...

My name is Hibiki.

[She holds her own hand out for a timid shake.]

It's nice to meet you, Hibiki-san! I hope that we can be good friends in the future!

[Because what's without friendship in a situation like this?]

But have you been here in Asgard for a long time? [She certainly hoped not but...]

Yes! It's nice to meet you, Yamagishi-san!

Actually... I was one of the first Travelers they brought here. It feels a little unreal at times...

[.......Oh.]

Ah...I didn't realize that you were. That must have been quite a long while for you to be here in Asgard! You are rather brave!

Er...

A lot of people say that, but... I don't think it's very brave or anything. I just happened to be brought here, and my power turned out to be really useful, that's all. We can't leave unless the gods lose our connections, either, so...

[A lot of coincidences that turned out for the better, as it were.]

But you were still here for quite a while though. I don't know how long it must have been but you have been trying and doing your best. You are brave, Hibiki-san, despite what powers or if you happened to just be here.

[Seriously, take some credit!]

[Being shown any kind of respect, especially from people older than her, for things she doesn't even feel very responsible for? It's weird and she's never quite gotten used to it.]

Does it... does it really count as being brave if it just sort of happens...?

I don't see why not? If you're able to keep on moving on despite the situation, then that just proves that you are.

[Fuuka didn't have any problem with respecting those who were younger than her. After all, there was a 10 year old in SEES. Despite them treating him like a kid, they know he can take care of himself just fine.]

You don't need to feel so worried over something like this! [Said the girl who also has a hard time taking compliments]

I suppose it just... feels like I'm taking credit where I shouldn't. I mean, people have been helping me the whole way, too...

Then they deserve the credit as well! There's a lot more you and others can do that could impress and surprise people! You should have some more confidence in yourself!

[Once again, said the girl who still has self esteem issues]

[They can have self-esteem issues together. At this point, Hibiki's self esteem is better than it used to be, but that's still not saying much...]

[Yay low self esteem buddies! While what Fuuka was doing wasn't the best idea, that was the problem.

The young girl had no idea how to help Hibiki out with something like this.]

...I'll definitely try myself as well. I don't know my powers just yet but I do want to try and help out here too.

What house are you in? We can narrow it down from there!

Oh, I'm from Odin! I have been told the house possess either ice or fire power.

The problem for me is that I don't know which one I have.

Oh! If it's Odin, it would have to be - those are the two powers Odin-sama's people can get.

All magic here works about the same... I think if we go to a safe place, we could try to test them out and see which one works?

But are we allowed to leave our post? I suppose it would be okay for a few minutes but when we are testing my powers, it would be difficult.
