EVENT LOG: GOOD GOD, Y'ALL

Who: EVERYONE
What: the Good God, Y'all mingle log.
When: Days 461-462 ( June 9-12 )
Where: the castle courtyard
Rating: PG-13. Anything higher than that should be taken to a private log, please!

Day 461 ( June 9/10 )
When the Travellers wake up, they will find a message sent to every bracelet in the city:
As per the agreement between the gods and their Travellers, all persons within Asgard are humbly requested at the castle courtyard for enlistment in the Holy City's war efforts. Every individual is invited to find their resolve and seek out their purpose; this is the final stand in Ragnarok, and your help is needed now more than ever.

Enlistment is mandatory! Please see your local officials for more information.
A friendly if not a touch formal invitation to what will essentially be Asgard's job fair! A mandatory job fair. This is why we can't have nice things.

The castle courtyard and the streets leading into it will be crowded with bustling natives and several booths, not uncommon in appearance to the many festivals they've had over the last two years. This time, however, there is no music or celebration to be had. Everyone is hard at work organising their efforts for the war and doing their level best to assist in the transition.

Day 462 ( June 11/12 )
The fair will continue for two days, to give everyone time to get down there and make their decisions. Anyone that hasn't signed up by the end of this day will be visited at home by a city rep and a few guards that will politely ask them to register for a group and weaponry if they plan to carry it. Refusal will land them in jail for the day, where they will still be politely asked to please, seriously, just pick something. Anything. Uncle Odin wants you.

At the end of the fair, there will be food and drinks to thank the Travellers for their support and cooperation. Throughout the entirety of the event and for the rest of their stay, the natives will be more reverent and grateful than ever than the Travellers have chosen to stay and fight at their side. They will do anything they can to help them win this war; this evening will be one of camaraderie and appreciation for the past, present, and future sacrifices to save the World Tree.

[ OOC NOTES: This is the mingle log for the Good God, Y'all event. Remember that all characters must be signed up for at least one group by June 12. Information on the currently established groups can be found here; sign-ups are in the comments section on the same post. Please put [OPEN/CLOSED] along with the time/location in the title of your comment. Let us know if you have any questions! ]

Co-workers. Oh, yes. It would seem so. I just figure....I'm not entirely sure on offensive use on my particular power, and I want to help out somehow. This is the least I can do. Though I could do more and would perhaps consider patrol or the military almost if I had my original power from back home.

[But ugh. She's rambling again. Elsa shakes her head and gives a small smile to Castle.]

I'm Elsa. I guess I'm just....conflicted on the whole power thing here.

Rick. [She was more talkative than he expected but he didn't mind.] I'm telekinetic, so I could probably move supplies or something, but... Welcoming Committee is a bit more my personality.

You had a power back home?
liberee: (Love will thaw)

[personal profile] liberee 2014-06-13 06:16 am (UTC)(link)
Of course. I guess at least with Charm I could....try keep the new arrivals somewhat calmer. Reassure them. I'm not the most comfortable with the idea of using it much farther though I know it can be much more powerful if I didn't have such reservations about it.

[There's a pause. Hardly the first time she exclaimed over her uncertainty with this particular power. She has no intention of using it to make anyone fall for her. Manipulating people's feelings like that....]

I did, yes. I could control the ice and snow.

[personal profile] writeswrongs 2014-06-15 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
That's a hell of a power. You know, I didn't realize that people who had powers in the place that they came from lost them and got different ones here. Magic's not really a thing where I come from. At least not the real kind.

[Much to his dismay. Having a power is one of the things he likes about Asgard.]
liberee: (Speak)

[personal profile] liberee 2014-06-15 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
Well, it is possible. Also there are some cases where there are similar powers here that they can be granted depending on the House, of course. I can only imagine a place without it, really.

[She has been so defined and terrified by her own magic her whole life. Elsa tilts her head a bit, almost briefly considering the idea of such a world. But it's not her. Not home, not Arendelle.]
writeswrongs: (seriously)

[personal profile] writeswrongs 2014-06-16 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
I'd like to think that real magic exists in the place where I come from, but if it does it's kept pretty well under wraps. Here's the only place where I get to bend spoons with my mind.

[Since it's not real to him, Castle doesn't have any concept of magic being terrifying. To him it's cool and somewhat useful. Kind of like being a superhero.]
liberee: (The perfect girl is gone)

[personal profile] liberee 2014-06-16 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
So there is nobody you know with it back home. I was....pretty unique as far as I knew. Nobody else had such powers that I ever heard of. I suppose the same could be said for your home too.

[Er, wait. That gets a bit of an eyebrow raise there.]

Bend spoons with your mind?
writeswrongs: (smug)

[personal profile] writeswrongs 2014-06-17 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
That's odd. Most people here who had powers back home knew other people who had powers.

Oh, yeah, that's kind of the standard telekinetic move, bending spoons. Other than burning down your entire school after your classmates dump pig's blood on you, I guess.

[He glances at Elsa and blinks.]

You have no idea what I'm talking about do you?
liberee: (Put on a show)

[personal profile] liberee 2014-06-17 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
From what I've been told, it seems that way. I was just....unlucky in that, having nobody else to really talk to or teach me how to control it, exactly.

[Which is where all the issues stem from, basically. Her parents not interpreting the trolls words correctly and their attempts to help only making things worse in the long run along with her own self imposed isolation continuing after their death.]

Pig's blood.....? What do you mean?
writeswrongs: (hmm)

[personal profile] writeswrongs 2014-06-19 01:19 pm (UTC)(link)
[Castle needs to stop assuming that people here get his pop culture references. He should know by now that most people aren't from his time and place.]

Sorry. There's a book back where I come from about a girl who has telekinetic powers and is teased pretty badly at school. Not necessarily because of the powers, because people don't know she has them. She's just kind of a weird, anti-social girl that doesn't have a lot of friends. They elect her prom queen and then dump pig's blood on her and she burns the whole school down.

[A delightful story and of course he has no idea about the background of the woman he's telling it to.]
liberee: (I'd sooner buy)

[personal profile] liberee 2014-06-20 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
Telekinetic? That's....moving things, isn't it? One of the Houses here grants that power, if I recall rightly. But I'd not heard that story. What is a prom? That seems rather....cruel of them.

[She can relate to the anti-social part. Not having friends. Being afraid of her powers. Elsa is hesitant in spite pf her curiosity in hearing that particular story.]
writeswrongs: (listening)

[personal profile] writeswrongs 2014-06-22 03:18 pm (UTC)(link)
[Castle raises his hand.]

Yes. That's my power. Here only. I didn't have powers back home.

A prom is a dance that kids have in the last few years of high school. They get all dressed up, spend an exorbitant amount of money, et cetera. [Thankfully his daughter hadn't gone too insane at her prom.] And yeah.. teenagers are pretty cruel, especially to people who are different.
Edited (lol that changed the meaning a bit) 2014-06-22 15:18 (UTC)
liberee: (Don't let them see)

[personal profile] liberee 2014-06-23 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
Of course. Not everyone came from a home with magic or powers. I understand that. My sister, Anna was here and she had no powers or magic back home either.

[Her lips purse as she listens, giving a nod. A dance. Like a ball, from the sounds of things, as far as she can tell from his description. Wringing her hands a bit in front of her.]

I see. I was rather....sheltered back home, so I suppose I was lucky I missed out on such an experience.
writeswrongs: (hmm)

[personal profile] writeswrongs 2014-06-24 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
Where did you grow up?

[He's guessing it's not America, though it could be an alternate version of America where people have magical powers. She wouldn't be the first person here to tell him about a version of America where the supernatural was real.]
liberee: (Love will thaw)

[personal profile] liberee 2014-06-24 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
My home, my kingdom was called Arendelle. I never expect anyone here to know of it, really. But....it was nice. Peaceful.

[She couldn't really point it out on any sort of map around here, but it isn't like it really matters. People are from all over, all sorts of different versions of Earth or other planets entirely.]
writeswrongs: (listening)

[personal profile] writeswrongs 2014-06-26 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
I'm from New York City. Earth. [Sometimes that has to be specified.] I've never heard of Arendelle. You called it your kingdom... are you a queen?
liberee: (Duty)

[personal profile] liberee 2014-06-26 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
I've heard of it, I think. But....yes. I am the Queen of Arendelle. Not that it matters much here, of course.

[Which Elsa accepts and defers to the gods in place of her own authority. This is not Arendelle and she has no authority here.]
writeswrongs: (reading)

[personal profile] writeswrongs 2014-06-27 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
Your majesty.

[He bows his head slightly to her in respect. Most times he's come across kings and queens in Asgard he's been typically American about it and not given a fig that they're royalty. Of course, most royalty is obnoxious. He finds Elsa to be decidedly un-obnoxious and thus deserving of his respect.]

You've heard of New York City though?
liberee: (Sincerity)

[personal profile] liberee 2014-06-27 11:14 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, just Elsa is fine here. I don't really think it worth much fuss here when this isn't Arendelle or even the same world.

[She tries to reassure him, as she has others prior upon their learning of her title. But there is a nod at the question, confirmation.]

Yes. I talked to a man from there, I believe. Or, one who lived there for some period at least.
writeswrongs: (listening2)

[personal profile] writeswrongs 2014-06-29 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
[And that's why Castle is willing to pay you some respect, Elsa. He likes humble people, despite.. not really being one himself.]

It's a very large city so it's not really surprising to hear about other people in Asgard who are from here. And it's been around for about 300 years at my point in time so that leaves a rather large chunk of time. Plus it could be someone from the future too.
liberee: (Fear is the enemy)

[personal profile] liberee 2014-06-29 07:08 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, yes. I'm aware it is apparently rather large and populated. And as far as the time thing goes....I think more than anything I'm grateful for having others more used to some of these things to help me. I mean, I'd never heard of a theme park before, for example, until a friend mentioned the one in Hel District I think he said it was. And the bracelets - we had nothing like that back home either. We had to write letters or talk to people in person.

[Even if she is more....subdued in her enthusiasm and curiosity in comparison to her sister, Elsa herself still marvels at a lot of things others may take for granted around Asgard.]
writeswrongs: (phone)

[personal profile] writeswrongs 2014-06-30 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
We have something called cell phones that we can use to communicate, either with voice or with a video or text, but they're not as advanced as the bracelets. This is pretty futuristic right here.

We've got tons of theme parks back where I come from. Truthfully, the one in Hel is a bit... dark. But it's Hel, so what can you expect.

[And then he sincerely hoped Elsa was not a member of Hel House.]
liberee: (To miss out on a sister like you)

[personal profile] liberee 2014-06-30 10:14 am (UTC)(link)
Cell phones? I'm not sure I've heard of those. Like I said, we just had letters. But your phones sound closer to these bracelets than that at least, so it doesn't seem like it would have been such a huge adjustment.

[There is a shrug as she bites her lip.]

I am aware of Hel and her....power specifically. But I am still kind of curious. You've been there before then? To the theme park?
writeswrongs: (hmm)

[personal profile] writeswrongs 2014-07-02 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
I've walked around it, yeah. Granted I didn't stay too long...

[He kept expecting possessed clowns to jump out and eat his face.]
liberee: (Something is not the same)

[personal profile] liberee 2014-07-02 05:26 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose I shall see when I go to have a look myself. I appreciate this though. And I'm sure I will be seeing you around plenty with being...co-workers, of course.
