Day 461 ( June 9/10 ): When the Travellers wake up, they will find a message sent to every bracelet in the city:
As per the agreement between the gods and their Travellers, all persons within Asgard are humbly requested at the castle courtyard for enlistment in the Holy City's war efforts. Every individual is invited to find their resolve and seek out their purpose; this is the final stand in Ragnarok, and your help is needed now more than ever.

Enlistment is mandatory! Please see your local officials for more information.
A friendly if not a touch formal invitation to what will essentially be Asgard's job fair! A mandatory job fair. This is why we can't have nice things.

The castle courtyard and the streets leading into it will be crowded with bustling natives and several booths, not uncommon in appearance to the many festivals they've had over the last two years. This time, however, there is no music or celebration to be had. Everyone is hard at work organising their efforts for the war and doing their level best to assist in the transition.
Day 462 ( June 11/12 ): The fair will continue for two days, to give everyone time to get down there and make their decisions. Anyone that hasn't signed up by the end of this day will be visited at home by a city rep and a few guards that will politely ask them to register for a group and weaponry if they plan to carry it. Refusal will land them in jail for the day, where they will still be politely asked to please, seriously, just pick something. Anything. Uncle Odin wants you.

At the end of the fair, there will be food and drinks to thank the Travellers for their support and cooperation. Throughout the entirety of the event and for the rest of their stay, the natives will be more reverent and grateful than ever than the Travellers have chosen to stay and fight at their side. They will do anything they can to help them win this war; this evening will be one of camaraderie and appreciation for the past, present, and future sacrifices to save the World Tree.

School was school. It was....well, I thought it was easy. Of course, it gets more difficult the older you get with studying. I haven't been since I was eight. Lee and I talked about trying to set up our own school, but....

[Well. That didn't and never would exactly work out. Not back home. Here though, perhaps. There's a pause as Clementine bites her lip briefly at the train of thought. The reminder that eventually, back home there is no Lee.]

It's different. There are all sorts of subjects. Maths, English, History, Art, P.E, Music, Science....Not as many as here with people teaching all sorts of things from different worlds or times. You get into more subjects when you get older.

You know, I'm starting to think school just wasn't ever made for me. In any timeline. That sounds really fucking boring.

[Er...Clem thought is was easy so she probably really liked it so...]

Ha. I guess it might be boring in comparison to learning how to fight. I almost actually kind of miss it. Or, I did, shortly after the walkers and all. It was so....familiar. Routine, back then and everything was crazy. Familiar was what I wanted but didn't have. Haven't really had since then.

[It's quieter, considering as she tries to explain and put it to words. Riley and Ellie had such a different upbringing in comparison. It's hard to imagine herself in their shoes, probably the same way it's hard for them to do so for her situation. A relatively normal and happy girl until the walkers.]

[She never lived in a time without the Infection but she feels for the other girl. Clem shouldn't have had to deal with things like that. She could have kept on having that normal life. Riley smiles at her.]

You go to the school here?

Yup. I mean, there was that period where it was kind of burnt down, but. I do. Something besides the clinic and training to keep me busy around here anyway. When there's no actual fighting, I mean.

[School was just a fact of life back home. Something all children went through in their study and education. A constant. Or, it was, until the walkers. Clementine is used to it, at least.]

I was here for when it burned actually. Ellie was in the building.

[She doesn't add the part that she ran in and carried Ellie out on her back after running from the house to the school then into the fire without hesitation.]

Yeah. I went in to see if I could help. It was....pretty scary. I still don't know why anyone would do something like that.

[Okay so. Snape made mistakes and was kind of a jerk sometimes but. Who isn't? Who doesn't make mistakes? Really. Clementine bites her lip and grabs more food when someone goes past offering more, taking a bite.]

Anyway. Seems okay now. Besides that I think I heard he's gone home.

Clem, if you're going to spend your time wondering why people are assholes, you'll never have time to do anything else.

[Riley gives her head a rub.]

So just focus on what you've got. A running school again.

Karma will bite them in the ass eventually.

[Yeah, Clem has been through far too much now to care anywhere near as much on swearing. The girl who previously initiated the swear jar, ladies and gents.]

You're right though. It's....good to have it back. Especially for Alice and the other kids.

[She is not going to comment on the fact that Clem is still a kid. Nope.]

Exactly. And, you liked it too which makes it pretty great that way too.

Yeah. I understand if it's....not really your or Ellie's thing though. I'm sure the school could figure some way to help out with the war and all, somehow. But that's not really helping you choose which to sign up with.....

[No. Don't you start, Riley. :l Everyone keeps treating her like a kid. And, well. She is. But she's also kind of not. Been through so much more than others might expect.]

Ellie happily signed up to go to that school actually. So it probably is her thing. And no but I'll figure it out. I always do.

[Don't worry, Clem. She's the last person who will ever treat you like you're a kid. You're just another person to her.]

Yeah. I'm sure one of the booths will be what you want to do to help out. Keep you busy. Just keep looking and asking around at the booths. I can come with you if you want. I've already chosen and signed up myself.

Got it. We'll be able to take care of them at the clinic. [There's a nod and smile of reassurance of sorts in response, affirmation.]

[Riley grins and gives her a wink before ruffling her hair again. She does that with lots of people so now it's applied to Clem too. It's her sister side coming out.]
