Day 461 ( June 9/10 )

When the Travellers wake up, they will find a message sent to every bracelet in the city:

As per the agreement between the gods and their Travellers, all persons within Asgard are humbly requested at the castle courtyard for enlistment in the Holy City's war efforts. Every individual is invited to find their resolve and seek out their purpose; this is the final stand in Ragnarok, and your help is needed now more than ever.

Enlistment is mandatory! Please see your local officials for more information.

A friendly if not a touch formal invitation to what will essentially be Asgard's job fair! A mandatory job fair. This is why we can't have nice things.

The castle courtyard and the streets leading into it will be crowded with bustling natives and several booths, not uncommon in appearance to the many festivals they've had over the last two years. This time, however, there is no music or celebration to be had. Everyone is hard at work organising their efforts for the war and doing their level best to assist in the transition.

Day 462 ( June 11/12 )

The fair will continue for two days, to give everyone time to get down there and make their decisions. Anyone that hasn't signed up by the end of this day will be visited at home by a city rep and a few guards that will politely ask them to register for a group and weaponry if they plan to carry it. Refusal will land them in jail for the day, where they will still be politely asked to please, seriously, just pick something. Anything. Uncle Odin wants you.

At the end of the fair, there will be food and drinks to thank the Travellers for their support and cooperation. Throughout the entirety of the event and for the rest of their stay, the natives will be more reverent and grateful than ever than the Travellers have chosen to stay and fight at their side. They will do anything they can to help them win this war; this evening will be one of camaraderie and appreciation for the past, present, and future sacrifices to save the World Tree.

[ it takes her a second to get with the program, smiling too much to properly kiss him back, but boy that sure is a kiss. so her hands end up on his sides, fingers tugging a bit at his shirt, just holding on. yeah, it feels good to be brain-mush kissed by Stiles Stilinski again. she might have eventually managed to get a few kisses and other rushed stuff out of him while she was a boy, but this is different, it's right. the way things are supposed to be. it's comfortable and easy and really, really hot. but she does bite his lip after a while, a long press because she's smiling again and- ]

I think we need to cool it on the PDA, um. [ people are watching. some people look offended, some look- the opposite of offended, which is also worrisome. ] Job fair, remember? Need to pick out a boring job before we can get to the sexy-fun jobs, yeah? [ ha ha get it jobs anyway ]

[teenyoda]

[Rachel, you're weird and he loves you. But he's smiling and wrapping his arms around her and just pulling her in for a hug, cheek resting on the top of her head.]

You should do the same job I am.

[Totally not because he wanted to keep an eye on her. Nope. Not at all. Not even a little.]

[ sure, they can hug. she likes hugs. she likes being shorter again, likes tucking up against his chest. all good things. ]

Should I? What job would that be?

Supplies. Being the little city gophers. You'd be good with your little doodle pad.

[Hale comes back in for a landing, setting on Stiles' shoulder, but winding his tail over Rachel's, like he was totally in favor of keeping the two of them together.]

[truesight]

Hm. Yeah. Aw. That sounds like a nice, safe job. [ a beat, then she's turning her head like she's looking around, still holding onto them ] What else can we do?

[teenyoda]

Why do more? You're likely going to wear yourself out doodling for that, so no, you don't get to sign up for to and work yourself to the bone. Sorry.

Who says I definitely want to be a gopher? That doesn't sound very exciting or adventurous. I like exciting and adventurous.

[teenyoda]

I promise to give you all the exciting adventure you want. In bed. But out of it, how about we go a little light on the excitement and adventure, hmm?

[ she's leaning back as much as his arms ( and Hale's tail ) allow, all set to argue that she needs to do something fun or she won't want to do it at all, but then-

that fACE ]

[Nope. He was using the puppy face and he knew it, eyes wide and looking up at her with a little pout.]

This way we can stick together and I can keep an eye on you and... you know, you can do the same. If you want.

[Hale knew that tone and he was joining Stiles in giving Rachel the most pathetic look a dragon was capable of, head tipped to the side and a small crooning sound leaving him.]

Of course I want. [ her hands move from his sides to his back, bunching her fingers up in his shirt before she just starts scratching at his lower back a bit. she scrunches her nose at Hale, who just darts in to give her a "kiss" on the cheek. ugh. ] You two- are brats. You're brats and you shouldn't team up like this, it's pretty rude. It's rude, and it's unfair, and fine I will sign up for the boring team with you because of course we should stick together, that's always, always going to be my answer. [ she huffs, giving him a "wow you suck and I really love you" face. that face exists, it does ]

[teenyoda]

[She got a bright beaming smile and a kiss on the forehead before he pulled her back in for another hug. This felt right. She felt right like this.]

Yes, we're terrible. We're horrible, evil boys and we should probably be punished for it. Later. We can start that whole adventure thing at home, but how about I escort your finely returned booty over to the booth?

[truesight]

I believe I'll be giving you a double punishment, because Hale wouldn't be such a little con artist if you didn't encourage him.

[ all said muffled against his chest, but that's okay. ]

You could do that.

[ but she hasn't let go yet sooo ]

Me? What makes you think I had anything to do with his behavior?

[He kisses the top of her head, grinning before he lets her go, but he's not completely letting her go. His hand finds hers and he twines their fingers together.]

Yes, you. I'm not the one he learns puppy eyes from as a result of hanging out with him all the time ever. That would be you.

[ she lets their hands swing loose between them while she follows his lead, using her free hand to push her sleeves up. again. ]

So who else is signing up for gopher detail, do you know? And what are we in charge of, just- any kind of supplies, ever? [ she looks a tiny bit wary ] I wonder how much things are going to change, what with all these groups now.

[teenyoda]

Oh, I don't know about that. You've got some puppy eyes going on some times. I've seen them. They have definitely been used to coerce me into doing things.

Um... I don't know? I didn't really look at the list other than to see if you were on it or not. And I'm not sure about what we're in charge of. I just know that out of what's there, it seemed the best thing to sign up for. And I'm sure we can figure out something so we're not running ourselves dead.

I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

And I'm not worried about that, not really. I think I've pretty much been a gopher during all of the big battles that've happened since I got here. Hanging on the sidelines, drawing armor and weapons. I might check out the other booths though, just to see. Just to see!

You want to waste your time checking out booths you're not going to sign into instead of using it to say hello to me? Naked? In bed? Your priorities are pretty messed up, Dare.

What, this doesn't count as a nice hello? I thought it was nice. All that hugging and smiling, and now with the hand holding. Shows what I know.

[ yep, playing it up juuuust because she can ]

We've got all- forever to say hello, so it can wait. Right? We can wait. There's literally no rush for bedroom hellos here.

[Have a long suffering sigh, Rachel. See how much he suffers? He suffers so much.]

[ no she does not want a boyfriend fox, but she'll pretend to just to bust his chops, sure. ]

You were probably the cutest little fox. With your little nose and your big fluffy tail. [ okay actually it is kind of adorable. and she's entering that baby voice she uses on Hale and Cora sometimes, turning to press her face against his shoulder while they walk ] I'd still let you snuggle with me, even if you were a fox. That's how much I love you. ..And how much I want to snuggle with a fox.

Sure, right. Fine. It's all fun and snuggles until I start humping your leg.

Tell me you weren't running around humping people while you were a fox. Oh gods, I don't think I can handle that. [ she's already laughing ] These poor, unsuspecting citizens. One minute they think they're just petting a sweet, friendly little fox... And then you got all fresh with them! Stiles. [ she shakes her head, all very tsk tsk ] You'll have to behave yourself, the next time you're a fox.

No, Rachel, I wasn't running around humping people, even if there were a ridiculous amount of pretty women that picked me up to snuggle.

If I wind up sleeping around my girlfriend who insists on being all cuddly, your leg is totally getting humped. Enjoy the smell of fox jizz.
