Day 461 ( June 9/10 ): When the Travellers wake up, they will find a message sent to every bracelet in the city:
As per the agreement between the gods and their Travellers, all persons within Asgard are humbly requested at the castle courtyard for enlistment in the Holy City's war efforts. Every individual is invited to find their resolve and seek out their purpose; this is the final stand in Ragnarok, and your help is needed now more than ever.

Enlistment is mandatory! Please see your local officials for more information.
A friendly if not a touch formal invitation to what will essentially be Asgard's job fair! A mandatory job fair. This is why we can't have nice things.

The castle courtyard and the streets leading into it will be crowded with bustling natives and several booths, not uncommon in appearance to the many festivals they've had over the last two years. This time, however, there is no music or celebration to be had. Everyone is hard at work organising their efforts for the war and doing their level best to assist in the transition.
Day 462 ( June 11/12 ): The fair will continue for two days, to give everyone time to get down there and make their decisions. Anyone that hasn't signed up by the end of this day will be visited at home by a city rep and a few guards that will politely ask them to register for a group and weaponry if they plan to carry it. Refusal will land them in jail for the day, where they will still be politely asked to please, seriously, just pick something. Anything. Uncle Odin wants you.

At the end of the fair, there will be food and drinks to thank the Travellers for their support and cooperation. Throughout the entirety of the event and for the rest of their stay, the natives will be more reverent and grateful than ever than the Travellers have chosen to stay and fight at their side. They will do anything they can to help them win this war; this evening will be one of camaraderie and appreciation for the past, present, and future sacrifices to save the World Tree.

[Yuiko nods. She could do that, she was usually the one that got elected to talk to new students all the time. And it was always fun to meet new people right.]

I could do that! I'd get to know a lot more people too.

[It's Yuiko, she'll take it as a compliment and blush a little.]

Really? Then I'll do my best and sign-up for the welcoming committee.

Ah but what group did you sign up for?

[Yuiko, you are like his favorite type of person.]

I signed up for the city patrol.

So you'll be making sure that everyone stays safe.

If you ever get tired just let me know. I've been really practicing lately and could give you a boost.

Let me guess. Freya with energy transfer?

[Yuiko nods.] I didn't really use it until recently, but Ame and a few others have been helping me practice.

Still, that's a little surprising! I didn't think you'd be so forward.

So forward? [Was it really being forward to offer to help give him an energy. . . unless he thought she was offer to . . . suddenly Yuiko's entire face turns red.]

A-ah I didn't mean that we'd have to. . . It would just be on your hand or cheek something we wouldn't have to you know.

"Just the hand or cheek" - that's still pretty affectionate though, don't you think?

[Was it starting to get warm? Wait, if it was affectionate did that mean that Ame really didn't mind or what if he did, what he thought she was a total creeper now. Ack what if Ritsuka found out and hated her for it. Did that mean she'd had a first kiss now, or did that only count when it was on the lips?]

W-w-well some places kiss on the cheek as a greeting r-right.

Are you from one of those places?

[Yuiko hangs her head in defeat still blushing.]

Well, lucky for you I don't make a habit of using up my powers too much. But...

[He reaches out here, lightly cupping her cheek with her hand.]

If it's you, I'd be alright with that.

[...Less obvious is how he's tensed slightly, ready to dodge any (well deserved) retaliation, but the chance to tease her is just too good.]

[The touch probably finds a rather warm cheek, and if she could she would probably blush even more though it's not possible. W-was he really. . . Her hands suddenly shot up in the air as she took a half step back.]

I can't. I can't. I can't. Yuiko can't date Sagami-kun!

[Nope totally not making a scene.]

[Aw, now he looks hurt.]

You can't? Did I do something wrong...?

N-no, you didn't do anything. It's just that. . . Yuiko. . . I. . . Sagami-kun is really nice, but Yuiko can't date people from other worlds yet. [U-um that was a good reason right? She wouldn't seem completely mean and cruel for something like that right? W-why was this happening, what was she supposed to do, now she was confused about something completely different than joining a group.]

I'm sorry.

[He tries to hold it in. Really, he does. But he can't stop himself from bursting into laughter.]

You really are too cute!

[And by that he means gullible. He reaches his hand out again - though this time it's to pat her on the head.]

Don't worry about it. I wasn't serious anyway.

R-really? It was just a joke.

[It felt as if a weight had been lifted from her shoulders and she laughed a little awkwardly.]

But what if I would have said yes?

Somehow, I really doubted you would. Call it a hunch.

Oh, well I guess that makes sense. [Nope it totally didn't and she had no idea. Was she giving off signs that she wasn't interested. Maybe it was because she was tall for her age, or maybe it was because she was from a different place.]

[The correct answer is, "because she seems like she would be too embarrassed to hook up with someone she hardly knew."]

Anyway, I should probably get going. Since you've got your group picked out, make sure you sign up quick before you get in trouble.
