EVENT LOG: GOOD GOD, Y'ALL

Who: EVERYONE
What: the Good God, Y'all mingle log.
When: Days 461-462 ( June 9-12 )
Where: the castle courtyard
Rating: PG-13. Anything higher than that should be taken to a private log, please!

Day 461 ( June 9/10 )
When the Travellers wake up, they will find a message sent to every bracelet in the city:
As per the agreement between the gods and their Travellers, all persons within Asgard are humbly requested at the castle courtyard for enlistment in the Holy City's war efforts. Every individual is invited to find their resolve and seek out their purpose; this is the final stand in Ragnarok, and your help is needed now more than ever.

Enlistment is mandatory! Please see your local officials for more information.
A friendly if not a touch formal invitation to what will essentially be Asgard's job fair! A mandatory job fair. This is why we can't have nice things.

The castle courtyard and the streets leading into it will be crowded with bustling natives and several booths, not uncommon in appearance to the many festivals they've had over the last two years. This time, however, there is no music or celebration to be had. Everyone is hard at work organising their efforts for the war and doing their level best to assist in the transition.

Day 462 ( June 11/12 )
The fair will continue for two days, to give everyone time to get down there and make their decisions. Anyone that hasn't signed up by the end of this day will be visited at home by a city rep and a few guards that will politely ask them to register for a group and weaponry if they plan to carry it. Refusal will land them in jail for the day, where they will still be politely asked to please, seriously, just pick something. Anything. Uncle Odin wants you.

At the end of the fair, there will be food and drinks to thank the Travellers for their support and cooperation. Throughout the entirety of the event and for the rest of their stay, the natives will be more reverent and grateful than ever than the Travellers have chosen to stay and fight at their side. They will do anything they can to help them win this war; this evening will be one of camaraderie and appreciation for the past, present, and future sacrifices to save the World Tree.

[ OOC NOTES: This is the mingle log for the Good God, Y'all event. Remember that all characters must be signed up for at least one group by June 12. Information on the currently established groups can be found here; sign-ups are in the comments section on the same post. Please put [OPEN/CLOSED] along with the time/location in the title of your comment. Let us know if you have any questions! ]

"Unfortunately, some people are too good at it, and those are the ones you have to watch out for." He knew he was talking about himself; he may have been a soldier, but he wasn't the son of a diplomat for nothing. Some of his dad's skills had rubbed off on him - though, unfortunately, not his skill in farming.

Or maybe that was a good thing.

"Yeah, keep your healers sweet, and you should be okay. Hopefully."

"Beware those with a smile and the hidden knife?" Maglor quips and smiles a little grimly. How many had cause to regret that they underestimated Feanor's second son? Dismissing him as Maedhros's shadow, as the gentle bard, only to learn differently all too soon.

"Well said! I would not like to run afoul of one, certainly."

"Oh, always. That doesn't change in the future. I don't think it ever will." Not with the likes of the Centauri around, and their version of politics.

"No. Mine is a good friend, but when he's on the warpath... You don't want to get in his way."

"We might wish it otherwise, but aye - there is always work for such." Maglor nods.

"I hope to meet him, one day - he sounds a good friend and fearsome enemy. Perhaps this world will be so kind as to bring him here, or perhaps we may hope to visit each other's worlds, in time."

"That would be nice, wouldn't it?" A chance to see other worlds, though he wasn't sure he'd drag anyone to his world, not with the Shadows being the threat that they were, Earth on the brink of collapse with a civil war, and a galaxy threatening to tear itself apart. "Stephen is a damn good man. He'd find this place fascinating - if frustrating."

"Fascinating but frustrating is how many of us see the place, so he would not be alone there." Maglor chuckles lowly. "But I would love to travel to these new worlds - my own is well loved, and to her will my heart always return, even if my people had not been bound to her existence, but ah, for the chance to walk among the stars, to learn their songs and see new places!"

He chuckled. "There's a planet we orbit, and deep within it is a machine, left there by an ancient civilization, which protects the planet. The people who guard it now are... well, they're interesting. I think you'd love it. They see so much of everything that goes on."

Asgard has taken much from him, but his fea, his soul, is still Eldar, and it shines now in his eyes, bright and clear, like stars (like moon and sun blended) in his interest.

"A whole other civilisation amongst the stars! Does the machine help them see, or is it an ability of their own?"

"Oh the machine helps them, does so much that we can't even begin to imagine," he said, thinking of Draal, and how Delenn's friend had flourished under the planet.

"But there is so much out there."
bythewaves: (golden voice)

Maglor laughs softly "The world is vast and the universe moreso, I am learning. Oh, but it will be good to see where Men go in my own world! If mine might be yours one day perhaps we will run into each other, somewhere out there."

"Who knows? From what I've gathered here, anything is pretty much possible," he said, shaking his head in amazement. "But I've taken up too much of your time."
bythewaves: (makalaure)

[personal profile] bythewaves 2014-07-19 09:55 am (UTC)(link)
"As I have of yours." Maglor tips his head politely. "I thank you for your time my friend. I think we will be seeing much of each other."

He couldn't help but smile in response. "In this place? I'm sure we will."
bythewaves: (regard)

[personal profile] bythewaves 2014-07-20 09:29 am (UTC)(link)
Maglor sketches him a bow with a smile. "Until the next time then."
