Welcome to Lux —

It's been under construction for about a month, and anyone in the Baldr district (or who just liked to wander) surely would have noticed the bar's construction. It was only a few days ago that the sign was finally put up—Lux.

Maybe you saw the owner's post on the network and decided to come see. Or maybe you were just walking past and was curious about the crowd of people who had gathered. Regardless, you'll be welcomed into a ritzy bar and lounge. There are some locals mingling about, and jazz is drifting through the air, since the owner is currently playing.

Should you decide to stay, you'll find that the drinks and food are very generously half price for grand opening. Or, if that's not to your taste, then surely the music and crowd will make up for it.

Ow, hey. [He'll just use his elbow to nudge her back, moving his hand so it wraps around her wrist loosely as he pulls her back toward the entrance of the bar.] You could, but you won't. I already know you won't because otherwise you won't get another daiquiri.

Oh. [ He's right. That gets her to shut up, to nod earnestly in following along. Even if the cogs in her head are turning...

Because then she gasps and looks up sharply, jaw falling slack. ] You're blackmailing me!!

[Just a grin.] I would hardly call this blackmailing. Call it outwitting with logic.

[ she scowls ] Underhanded logic...

[wasthemaster]

Guess you'll just have to learn how to outsmart me, won't you?

I'm not going to have to learn anything. I already know all I need to know.

[ He's still getting her the drink, after all. ]

[He's convinced himself it's because he'll get most of it this time.] And what is it that you know? [And they're rounding the corner about now, the entrance in sight.]

Lots of things. Things people assume I don't. Like how to tie people to chairs.

[wasthemaster]

What business do you have tying people to chairs?

[glistens]

Well I can't put my hair to waste. That would be ungrateful.

[ Oh my gosh what does he not undersand about this. He gets a Look.. ]

Would you like me to tie you to a chair?

Absolutely not. I'd just like to know what you had to tie someone to a chair for.

For self-defense. [ so pleased with this reaction you don't even know ]

I think you and I have very different ideas of self-defense. [Into Lux they go and back off to find that nice bartender with the drinks and things.] What was your predator doing?

Is it really that weird? Tying - Tying people to chairs, I mean. Don't people do that in your world? It seems logical to me...

We don't tie people to chairs for self-defense, no. [Other reasons, sure, but not self-defense.] We've other means of protecting ourselves.

[glistens]

Liiiike? You were supposed to tell me more about your world, remember? That's kinda why we went outside. Why do you tie people to chairs?

Generally people from my world only tie other people to chairs for interrogations. You know what interrogations are, don't you?

[glistens]

Another thing I can do really well.

This doesn't count, you know. [He's finally wormed his way up to the bar and places an order for another drink.]

Of course it does. And even if I didn't, what do you think I was doing after I tied the person to the chair? I interrogated them! [ This with an outrageously proud grin. ] It was a big success.
