[ Lucky doesn't like this place. He'd growled at the maid who greeted them, and while every now and then he'll trot ahead to investigate their surroundings, he always ends up sniffing at a person or building a little more desaturated than their surroundings, sneezing and shaking his head and trotting back to Kate with a disgruntled look on his face.

Kate, he seems to say. Kate, this is SCREWED. UP.

...in her head, Lucky sounds a lot like a more-sensible Clint. ]

I know, buddy. [ Kate reaches down to scratch behind one of his tattered ears, and takes the opportunity to pause and look around, adjusting her bow and quiver on her back. She's not entirely certain she's going the right direction anymore, but she's not positive she's lost yet either. ] Hey, look on the bright side. The air's a lot cleaner than LA...

[ Lucky looks up at her, single eye silently judgmental. No, that is not helping. ]

[ Charley loves her Doctor. Charley is desperately glad to have her Doctor back, to have her ring on her finger where it belongs. But Charley also needed a little air so she and her Doctor weren't both emotional wrecks all night.

So she's out picking up some food for supper when a one-eyed dog trots over to sniff at her. Or, probably, the bag she's carrying that has food in it. She smiles and crouches down so he can sniff her hand ]

Well hello there.

[ Lucky wags his tail so hard his entire backside goes with it when she speaks to him. This person smells right. And so does the food she's carrying. Especially the food.

Kate sighs and jogs to catch up - harassing strangers for people food is one of Lucky's favorite hobbies, and it's not exactly easy to drag him away once he's started. ]

Sorry! I didn't exactly have the chance to grab his leash before we got kidnapped, so...

Oh, it's all right! [ Charley laughs a little, scratching Lucky behind the ear. ] He's a very good boy, isn't he? Such a good boy.

[ What? She likes dogs. ] He seems relatively well-behaved, at least. Hasn't run off to some far corner of the city, leaving you in the dust.

[ She grins fondly at that. ] He is. I think he's a little afraid that if he wanders too far away, creepy Russians will steal him back, but I guess whatever works...

[ Apparently being stolen by his owner's partner does not factor into his fears. Lucky is not able to weigh in, because Lucky doesn't really care about this conversation. Lucky is getting scritches. ]

So, are you- You're not from here, are you?

Creepy Russians? Sounds like a story there. The only Russians I've met have been distinctly violent, but not particularly creepy.

[ She gives Lucky one last scritch and stands again. ]

No, not remotely. Charlotte Pollard, previously of England. My friends call me Charley.

Thor Welcome Hall

[Mikazuki always takes the spiral slide on his way down, complete with the obligatory “woohoo!” sound. Today he shoots out of the slide to find himself facing a one eyed dog.

Does anyone living has a pet?]

Hey there buddy... are you lost or did we get a dog Traveler?

[He holds out a hand for the dog to sniff and looks around until he spots Kate. He didn’t see her around before, either…]

Hi, new girl! Is this your friend?

[ Lucky blinks mildly at him, and wags a tail politely as he sniffs his hand. Hello, strange person. You don't smell like dust and nothing, and therefore it is nice to meet you.

Kate lifts a hand to wave at Mikazuki, even as she wonders why the hell there's a slide in here. It's cool, but kind of weird, and not at all what she expected from the exterior. ]

Yeah, he's mine. Sort of. And I am now ninety-nine percent sure we're not lost.

[crowover]

[He returns the wave. With his other hand, he scratches Lucky’s head. He’s not much of a dog person, but his brother was, so dogs get plenty of affection for reminding Mikazuki of him.]

Just ninety nine? [He grins.] Actually that’s pretty great for just coming here.

[ Lucky sits down, tail sweeping the floor, as Kate walks over to join him and the stranger. ]

Well, for suddenly ending up in a strange city in another planet... yeah, I think ninety-nine percent sure is awesome. [ She shifts her quiver again and holds out a hand to shake. ] I'm Kate. This is Lucky. And I assume this is actually the Thor building and we didn't just invade your house or something.

[crowover]

[He takes the offered hand and give a hearty handshake.]

Nice to meet you both! I'm Mikazuki, and this girl right there [He gestures to a crow, fluttering from the top floor to land on Mikazuku's head] is Mu.

[Mu gives the newcomers a short look. She's not impressed, but she never is.]

This is definitely the Thor building! I wouldn't know what to do if it was my house, too many rooms.

[snowstormed]

[Bucky has been here for about a day, and today he's decided to try to get more of a feel for the city he's found himself stuck in. He's exploring through one of the greyer areas and feeling slightly unsettled by them when he spots--a dog. A one-eyed dog. Sniffing at the building.

So Bucky walks on over, just as the dog trots back to a young girl with a bow and quiver on her back.]

Air here's a lot cleaner than in most cities, I'll give them that. 'Course, most cities aren't this grey.

[ Kate looks up with a smile, just kind of glad to run into a person who acts and sounds like a real human being - and jumps a little as she realizes she recognizes said person. It's like seeing a ghost... albeit, not as weird when it's someone who's already come back from the dead once, but still. ]

Oh my god. Bucky?

[snowstormed]

[And that--doesn't really catch him so off-guard, mostly because he's become slightly used to strangers knowing who he is right off the bat, but after a day of relative anonymity in the city, it's a bit of a surprise to see someone who's apparently from the same world as him.]

Yeah. [A friendly smile. If she looks closely, though, he's just the slightest bit tensed up, thanks to both the shock from his arrival not quite wearing off entirely and the part where somebody knows him, and he doesn't know them.] You know, I find it kind of a shame that you know my name already and I still don't know yours. Or the little fella's.

[Hi, doggy, you're kind of cute, for a one-eyed dog.]

[ Kate blinks in surprise at the question, but as she studies him for a moment, eyes narrowed... He looks younger than the man she knew. Not as scruffy, not as serious. And, as her eyes flick to his left hand, it's obviously flesh, not metal. Ah.

This is a parallel universe thing, isn't it? Or a time travel thing, maybe. Considering she's in futzing Asgard right now, this is not as startling as it would otherwise be. ]

His name's Lucky. [ He wags his tail at the sound of his name. ] I'm Hawkeye. Uh. I mean Kate. Kate Bishop. I sort of know you in the future or in an alternate universe or something and I'm sorry, I know this is probably super weird.

[snowstormed]

You what.

[His tone is completely flat, almost disbelieving. Super weird, she says, and that's the understatement of the century, in his opinion. He scrubs a hand over his face, lets out a breath.]

Right, 'cause everything about this whole situation isn't weird enough already. [He mutters it more to himself than to her, but it's just loud enough for her to hear. Hell. Why not? He's been dragged into another world and told to basically make the entire place look pretty again with his feelings, and oh yeah there's a war on too.

He might as well believe her.]

Yeah, well, I'd say getting dragged into another world in the first place is weirder. [Casual shrug, but he's still somewhat tense.] Pleasure to meet you, Kate. Again, I guess.

Wait until the ash starts to fall. It's like, way worse than Los Angeles. [Not that she's ever been there. She hasn't, despite the fact that she's always been curious about it and she had made a pros and cons list of trying to crash on Puck or Mercedes' couch versus Rachel and Kurt's. She had a list, but she ultimately decided she liked the idea of New York better. Plus, she'd been a couple times, even if one largely included a chaotic adventure with weird Christmas displays and her dressing up as Santa Claus.

Anyway, she focuses on the girl and her dog, and actually feels bad for the dog. Poor dog.]

[ Lucky wags his tail cautiously, ears perking forward. Hello, new friend who is not weirdly gray. Kate raises her eyebrows, not sure how to interpret that comment... but kind of glad to find someone other than the dog to talk to. ]

Until the what? Please tell me we're not sitting on a volcano or something.

[Santana shakes her head quickly, looking vaguely impatient, even if she really has no room to be. She shouldn't, but here she is, acting exactly that way.]

We're in a war. Things blow up sometimes. Or burn down.

Oh, okay. [ Well that's no big deal. At least, not for someone from her version of Manhattan. ] Unless the whole city burns down, I don't really think it's gonna make it to LA levels.

So you can breathe ash in in LA? [That seems to be the next logical question here. If it really is that bad, she definitely made the right choice. Go NYC.]

No cars and not many vehicles in general. That probably helps.

[ They do, however, have motorcycles, which is pretty self-evident from the one Jane was about to climb onto before getting distracted watching the dog and the new girl. Speaking of which - she takes a step towards Kate with a small smile. ] Sounds like you're new around here?

[ Huh. Motorcycle. For some reason she hadn't expected to see that around here - it's Asgard, they use magic and horses and probably freaking magical creatures, not... motorcycles.

She shakes herself out of her contemplation of that to smile at the woman who'd spoken. ]

Yeah. Just got here. I didn't realize how much I'd gotten used to the smog until suddenly... the sky actually looks blue and it's weird.

[ To be fair, most people don't. And it's just as easy to get around without it, but when the gods give you a motorcycle for Christmas, you have to at least take it for a spin once. ]

For all the problems here, pollution is not one of them. Or litter, really; it's cleaner than most cities.... Anyway, welcome to Asgard. Were you just looking around, or are you trying to get somewhere?

Thanks. I was sort of looking for the Thor Welcome Hall, but... it's not like I'm in a hurry. Might as well take a little time to explore if we're going to be stuck here for a while.

[ But she is at least nominally an Avenger and inasmuch as she has a purpose here, it's doing hero things, so she should probably ask... ] When you say problems, do you mean the whole everything's gray and soulless thing, or is there other stuff?
