Ah… Tartarus is a labyrinth. It was a really tall tower that we had to climb. Once we got to the top… we had to fight against the Death Arcana to protect the world. [And his twelve other forms, the son of a bitch.] All of that happened back in January… The Dark Hour’s been gone for almost six months.

It was one hell of a challenge, that’s for sure! [He grins, despite some of the unpleasant memories.] It could be a pain in the ass at times, but we had to keep going, you know? We couldn’t let everyone down.

This is amazing, though… If Mitsuru was here, she’d definitely wanna compare notes. I mean, if Shadows popped up in your town, then… I guess we didn’t get rid of ‘em for good.

Kanji's tone's subdued for a moment as he responds to what Akihiko's saying-]

Looks like it. Sorry, man. [A little more optimistic-] But we got 'em for you this time around!

[Maybe it was a childish dream for them to think that they could get rid of the Shadows once and for all... especially considering everything they had to sacrifice. Still... it almost feels like... their efforts were for nothing.

Not that Akihiko is going to reveal any of this doubts right now, in front of someone on a different team, and from his future, to boot.]

Yeah... They'd better not come back again, damn it. [Have another fist-bump for that, Kanji.] Might be a regional thing... If we hear about cases outside of Port Island, we'd definitely go check it out.

You went to Gekkoukan High? [His eyes widen a little with surprise.] Yeah, I did. I graduated this spring, though. I was gone by the time you stopped by.

[He smiles, his demeanor relaxing a bit more.] What did ya think? Did you get to try out any of the food places nearby? Or get a chance to check out Paulownia Mall?

Huh, cool. Paulownia... yeah, I think that was the one we went to. Our - team - had a night out at Escapade.

[He'll admit that. He's just in no hurry to admit the other stuff that happened.]
