Excellent! We can start with these then!

[Apparently, agreeing was all the incentive North needed to begin pulling some books out from the pile. Without a moment’s hesitation, he hands a few over to September.]

What will help us for what is to come? This is question I wish to answer. Already there was an attack so Giants! Is definitely something to brush up on. [A book is dropping in the center.] More information on Asgard – our new duty now. [A second book thuds.] And this! Book here has mentioned of power other than God-given one we have now. [And the last book falls.]

[There's no point in taking books out of the library for himself, seeing as he can read one or two in less time than it would take him to walk out the door. He's helpful, though. North probably doesn't read like September does.]

What is the other 'power'?

[North flips open the last book he had placed down. Running his hand through the pages, he turned each sheet until he found the information he needed.]

Book is not very detailed. Makes mention of magic created from runes. Not most helpful description. But! I know of what they speak of. 'Running magic' according to natives.

Try this one. [He indicates another book in the pile.] Am sure I can find more information in one of them.

[OOC: It won't. The book North pulled out only mentions the beginning of the grey sickness.]

What is a rune?

[Not a word he's familiar with at all, like colors and love and autumn. New things. He gets to flipping through the book, while listening.]

[North picks up another book, flicking his way through the pages until he reached a part he hadn't read earlier. Keeping his eyes on the part, he continues speaking.]

Runes are what gives us ability to use magic - apart from God given abilities of course. A friend of mine once had this on his hand. Lines and symbols are drawn into skin by special ink or oil into different patterns.

You will notice once you leave library I think. Oil and ink can be bought in stores around here.

You will soon I expect. [North's optimism shining through again.] Best way is to find job in Asgard. I have heard Welcome Hall provides basic needs but employment will grant access to other possibilities.

Are in same boat my friend. [If it wasn't for the Ice Rink and the parents stuffing money into North's hands when he gave out his toys, North would be a very broke Santa Claus indeed.] Has not been my own goal in mind for...well, centuries I suppose. But! [North laughs (while he's uh...in the library.) and claps his hand on September's shoulder.] We must make do with what is available! If it is uncomfortable, am sure Welcome Hall and blessings will make so in meantime.

Ah! Did I not mention this before? [The tangent does throw North off for a moment. Blinking up at September, North realizes he hasn't fully introduced himself.] It is how long I have been around this world - ah, no. My world. I am a Spirit back home. Have been alive for centuries on Earth.
