A friend and I have tried looking for answers in this library before to no avail. Or were you looking for something to preoccupy yourself.

Sleep is unnecessary. It was bypassed to save time.

[Ignoring the fact she's had nothing but nightmares most times, but hey. Dreams. They're nice. The ones where you get in your sleep, not the ones you get when you're awake.]

Dreams are randomized sensations your mind produces during heavy sleep. I have never dreamed, I cannot be more specific.

I do not believe sand is involved in the process.

Firstly, it was a child's bedtime story of the sort. And secondly - in which you shall see for yourself - Asgard is very much open to all sorts of beings. Sandman included.
